My litter box has the option for top entry or front entry. Opened the front entry since my cat likes to poop on the lid sometimes for who knows what reason. Happened to be in the room when he used the litter box just now. He doesn't turn around. So he poops at the entrance, which means spilling out will be inevitable, either because he shot it out or because he stepped on it on the way out. Any idea how I can get him to turn around?

Buy a new litter box. Blast the old one totally clean at the car wash or toss and buy two identical ones. Griffin had an open box but there was a plastic guard around the edge to catch most of the clay spray.

Or if that doesn't work

Cats should have two boxes per cat anyway. He might start peeing in one and pooping in the other.
