Feline Follies

"There, I pet you back. You get the shot? "

I bought my cat a wellness center thing that allows him to chew on things, groom himself, scratch his own back and so forth. Once he figured out he could pull the chew part out, that's all he does. It's pointless to put it back in because he'll just pull it out. Now he's discovered that the the pad to lie on is held down by Velcro, so he keeps pulling it off the wellness center.

Not spoiled. Yeah, right. I've never seen a cat that wasn't spoiled. Take our Sherlock for example. Any time we go in the restroom, he'll come and jump up on the sink and beg for the water to be turned on a trickle. He has mastered the art of rotating his head sideways to drink from the running stream. (I think he does that because the pet store we brought them from wasn't very good at keeping their watch bowl filled.)

That, and cats generally view running water as more fresh and therefore preferable to the dead water in their bowl. Same with water from a puddle after rain, which is why you can often see cats who have regular water in a bowl at home go outside to drink "fresh" water.

We had a ginger cat who liked to drink from the dog's water bowl though I have to admit that keeping his inside water bowl full sometimes fell by the wayside.
