Feline Follies

Hootie cos he resembles an owl (well at least in that pic).
yes- also his original habit of disappearing for the first 3 weeks after we rescued him! now he is frequently underfoot supervising everything I do. He's almost 14 so he's getting more content to supervise from the couch but he's almost always in every room I am. He's a fluffly squishy love sponge.

I'm not sure Willow is feeling so well right now. She threw up this afternoon, walked away from it, and sat, staring at the floor.

She also seems to be having some potty issues. She sits in the box like she's trying to pee for long periods of time and several times in a row in all three boxes.

I think it's time she goes in for a checkup.

Good luck and happy thoughts for Willow!

Yep - might have some type of kidney or urinary infection... Gotta kill those asap!

Such a worry when they are unwell. I hope it is something minor and temporary.

Sox is contending with the neighbour's cats right now. They come over at night and sit on her turf! She finds it quite rude. Really the cheek of them. I saw one casually walking around out patio leaving its cat scent for Sox to notice later. They are quite beautiful. One is big and grey and the other well-nourished and ginger, neither of course is as special as Sox. Mind you my girl upset me yesterday, she brought a lizard in the house and I spent an age trying to find it. She's not to be trusted, she may be middle-aged and in remission but is a highly skilled hunter. Catch and release is her game.

Affectionate cats like me enjoy close interactions and snuggling. I might be a little shy or bashful as I adapt to a new environment, but that should be easy in a home with moderate activity.

He. The books say once a week--sshhyeah. I brush him every night. He LOVES to be brushed--all I have to do is pick up the brush and wave it at him and he comes running. Every night he jumps in my lap and I brush him.

And there's STILL tiny tumbleweeds of cat hair all over the house.

Yes, sorry. My mind was wandering.

I wish my cats liked to be brushed. I have found that they'll generally tolerate the Furninator I recently got, but still, only to a point. Surprisingly, I've been able to get quite a bit out of Willow, who cannot stand to be brushed any other way.

Junior is the only cat I've ever had who enjoys being brushed Every other cat I've had or taken care of would either run away from it or actually attack the brush itself.

Yes, Willow bites the brush. It took me a long time for her to accept back strokes with my hands, but a brush is still too much for her.

My Maine Coon - Persian mix is just like that... She'll stretch and mew and slowly work her way over to the brush.

The brush is mother, the brush is father...

Junior is gorgeous- his eyes are very expressive too.

I wear a lot of black; not the least because Hootie the Persian is black. In spite of trying to comb him twice a week I never leave home without a good layer of black fuzz. Summer is coming and so is his summer cut; I get him trimmed down three times a year -we let it grow out in the winter. I’ll post a pic once he’s gotten his cut.
