Feline Follies

And yet another picture of my cat:

Now my poor baby is sick. :( She threw up four times this afternoon and is now resting uneasily on our couch where I usually sit.

Poor thing! I imagine you will take her to the vet in the morning?

If she's still feeling sick, yes.

This is her first time being sick, and I think she's thrown up once before since she's been here (several years), so this is definitely odd.

I have been spending as much time with her as possible this afternoon and evening, but she just moved away from me, so I think she wants to be alone for a while.

Her nose isn't hot, but it's not cold, either. About the same temp as my finger.

What lovely picture. I hope she's on the improve.

Was the outside trip recent?

Was the outside trip recent?

Yes, she's been going out every day since she went out for her first trip.

It is possible she ate a plant that disagreed with her when she was chomping on grass. Then again, there could've been a bad piece of grass.

It seems to have been just a tummy thing and she's much happier now. She actually went outside again today, and when she was done, she headed toward the door to come back in and walked in on her own accord.

She's also eating again and using the little box, so I don't think there's a blockage as with my Jim (R.I.P.).

I was thinking about her eating some outside thing. Enough grass will make them throw up.

She had thrown up a clump of grass after her first excursion, but hadn't since then, though she kept eating it. Now, sometimes they eat grass to help with digestion (cat grass, anyone?), and also, there was no grass in her recent throw-ups.

She's still not 100%, but she's definitely feeling much better than yesterday.

...And then there's Sophie, who today, for some reason, has been exhibiting the same signs Jim did before he became ill and died...though they had explained to us that, while it happens in female cats as well, their urethras are wider, so it's rarely life-threatening for them (crystals in their urine). She's been sitting in a litterbox for long periods of time, leaving only tiny clumps, if any at all, over and over and over in a short span (in this case, since this morning). :(

I will be doing that, for sure.

TBH, the thing with Sophie is scaring the hell out of me because of what ended up happening with Jim. Our vet's description is little consolation for me at the moment.

Willow is eating and drinking now. She's also moving around and jumping up on high places (yesterday she stayed as close to the ground as possible, other than our low couch).

I would've taken her to the vet this morning, but honestly, she wasn't showing any signs until later that she wasn't fully recovered.
