Footage like this just fascinates me.

I see the action once and I reason, "Okay, just a comedic fluke. The person randomly caught a sequence of an animal performing a certain activity." But when that footage shows the animal repeating the action, in this case, the cat runs up the incline to seemingly, purposely slide down again, I pause to consider, "What exactly is happening within the brain of that cat?" I mean, a good deal of play is really channeling hunting instincts, like batting a wad of paper is similar to the way a cat will toy with its prey, or the so-called bunny kicks is a dialed back version of disemboweling an attacker or prey. But activity like this or the cat using a mat to slide down a flight of stairs? If it's mimicking some predatory reflex, I have no idea what it might be. The cat just seems to be having, well, "fun"!

I had pulled up the carpet in an old house to reveal the hardwood floors. Puzzle, the cat, would run into a room and whip around and start running in the opposite direction while sliding in the original direction. Occasionally, he would crash into the exercise equipment piled in the corner of the room. He was definitely having a good time of it.

Oct. 1st was a BIG day for us. We finally made it to having a cat 5 years. Our beloved cat we had when we were first married died a couple months before turning 5. She was a very sick kitty. So when we got an 8 year old cat when our neighbor died. We didn't think we would make it 5 years. She is 13 now. And she had a rough year. First the heat wave, then she lost two claws (which I am still hoping they both come back), and she had a tooth pulled. One things after another and then we were gone two weeks and had to leave her. It is a nice place, but still we missed her, but she is no camping cat or riding cat. So yeah! made it 5 years!! Do any of you have any luck with your cat riding in the car or camping?
