In the aftermath of Nero's attack against the Federation, how does that affect the bilateral relationship between the Federation and Kelvinverse Romulans? Nero being from the future of another (prime) reality, after all.

After the destruction of the Kelvin, it's likely the Romulans did the same thing as the Federation and Klingon Empire and built up their military. We see from the increased size and capabilities of both Starfleet and Klingon vessels, plus the early destruction of Praxis, that there was a clear military build-up.
Admiral Marcus believed a war to be inevitable by the late 2250's. The Romulans, being the Romulans, were likely planing to stand by and watch the Federation and Klingons kill eachother before moving in and moping up whatever was left. The Federation being weakened by the loss of Vulcan, likely made them a tempting target for the Klingons and the Romulans.

If the movies continue in the "big picture/starship battle" vein, we might see the Romulan fallout. So a "Balance of Terror" movie? Though Discovery has already done their own alternate version of events, though not in the Kelvinverse. So a third rehash might be a bit much. Not to mention that Kelvinverse comics have touched on it, too. And Beyond had Krall kill off Kelvinverse's Martine and Tomlinson.
Edition says in Beyond that the Federation "broke bread" with Romulans and Xindi following their conflicts. So perhaps in the Kelvinverse, things were a lot more different than it seems from just '09 and ID.
He said they "lost millions to the Xindi and Romulan Wars." Only for them to sit him in a Captain's chair to "break bread with the enemy." That could easily be referring to the Xindi and exclude the Romulans.
Remember that Krall's view of the Federation is outdated and colored by his disgust.
