Federation Concept Ships

wow starship, i indeed remember sharing the mesh with someone who requested it, i named it uss berlin back in the day, it was this mesh only with different colours, i had a long break from modeling and am now getting back to it, i wondered what happened to it, small world :)

As you said, it´s a small world!
I´m a married man now, and have two kids (11 and 6 years old), so, don´t rest me to much free time for modelling... This hobby is on hold.
Welcome back my friend.

thanks :), well teach your kids modeling ^^, but yeah its time consuming business this, was too busy with work and relationships as well, i cant do all the detailing i want to either but for the occasional concept its all good, you had some nice ones too, dont give up on it :)

YGG I liked the Warthog Class so much, and seeing as it is a concept ship I thought I'd put my own twist on it!

Hope you like it!

She has a crew of 15
she is buit for war, Triple armored hull, she has two forward transphasic torpedo tubes, and four type 15 pulse/beam phaser cannons.

oh now this is awesome, really nice how you interpreted the parts, love the shape, looks good from all the angles, it has a more tank-like feel to it, like a big world war 1 tank for space, just what i had in mind, also like the pylons, very good for a small ship, all around totally sweet interpretation :techman:

Thank you! Once I get her all painted and textured I'll give you the file and you can use her in any images you want! :D

Also like WWI tanks they are deployed in large groups, protecting convoys, assaulting enemy strongholds and ship yard, basically doing the dirty work of war for the federation! Each crew is responsible for maintaining their ship. Seeing as she has so much weaponry and an advanced (But still cheap) warp core, there is not much room for luxury, no independent quarters, the entire crew eats, sleeps, and does their bathroom business in one shared crew bunk room. I was also inspired by the recent WWII tank movie Fury! :)

ive seen fury, really a gripping movie, totally see what you mean

its funny: i wrote almost the exact same introduction to the warthog class when i first released it on sci-fi meshes before the crash, only that i likened it to submarines, but the same things about no luxury and close quarters, i think we have the same idea about the design

cant wait to see it in full colours, would be awesome if you share the file, not sure but i might even get it 3d printed for us

Agamemnon. Is it a starship carrier? It looks to be absolutely huge.

Also reminds me of the mothership from Indepenance Day, just with warp nacelles.

I'd like it with no nacelles for a starbase, with a huge claw like spacedock from ST:TMP under the saucer's lower spine.

thanks madman, would like to see them, nothing better than seeing ppl inspired to more creations

not sure how you intend that but i think i might try a station version publiusr, its not that far a leap

a new concept ship based on one i made back in the day, just a quick first draft

thanks madman, think the transition to the sec hull needs some solution, and the pylons are recycled still, will post some updates later

btw. really like your pixarprise idea, for some reason like three days before i found the thread about it i was what-ifing exactly this, and looks quite perfect how you executed it, nice work

Thanks. :)

I think that one might look good if there was a space between hulls, maybe to make it look like the primary hull could just pop off if it needed to. I've always liked ships that have large sections, connected by fragile looking connectors. :)
