But, hey, if this is the 1970s, wouldn't it be NBC? I get CBS now, but for the vintage...

They may not have been able to sell it to NBC - who knows? Did you know that Law & Order was originally piloted for ABC and they said, "Nah" ? And J.A.G. started on NBC for one season - when they dropped it, CBS had 9 good seasons that followed ...
