I keep forgetting it's a leap year. There's a guy I used to work with who was born on February 29th. Guess he will get to celebrate a birthday this year!
You're in New Zealand, Candlelight; most of the rest of us are still in normal time-keeping mode.

Thanks for the reminder, though - I honestly didn't even know it was a leap year. That's how lacking in schedule I am at the moment.

I had a disagreement with a friend yesterday about today being the 29th of February. It seems that she bought an el cheapo calendar that misses off the leap day. She thinks her calendar has to be right and won't believe either me or her sister when we say that today will be 29 February.
Then she said it didnt really matter if her calendar was wrong as it would be right for the rest of the year. We said it wouldn't because it would have 1st of March being a Wednesday not a Thursday, 2nd of March being a Thursay not a Friday and so on for the rest of the year.
Then she said something about today (now yesterday) being the 28th, adding that if there was a 28th there wouldn't be a 29th. It seems that she honestly believed that on leap year the 28th of February is dropped and replaced by the 29th. I said to her "What would be the fucking use of that?" and she asnwered "Its tradition". Her sister and her than explained why we have leap years though I must admit I couldn't quite remember the rule for years ending in 00 - whether they had to be divisible by 400 to be leap years, or vice versa. I looked it up when I got home and found out that 1600 and 2000 etc were not leap years because they were divisible by 400. 1700, 1800, 1900 etc were leap years.

My nephew is now 3 years old. He was born in 2000. 
I think I will always associate Leap day now to Jim Carrey, thanks to 30 Rock.
2000 was a leap year, because it was a Summer Olympics year. if there's a Summer Olympics, it's a leap year.
There was a Summer Olympics in 1900, but it wasn't a leap year. If the Olympics continue long enough 2100 will be an Summer Olympics year but not a leap year.

Well it'll be just over 2.5hrs until it's offically the 29th of Feburary (UTC) for everyone. (NB: It might not be locally the 29th)
Centennial leap years are only leap years if they're divisible by 400. 2000 was a leap year because 2000 is equally divisible by 400. 1800, 1900 and 2100 were not/will not be leap years because they are not divisible by 400.

February 29th is no big deal. If we ever get to February 30th, that will be cool. 
Interesting my watch says it's the 1st of March. Anyways happy leap day.
And U.S. Presidential elections also always fall on leap years.
It's only a leap year in the years ending 1900, 2000, 2100, 2200 etc.. if it's divisible by 400 exactly. so 2400 will be a leap year as will 2800 but not 2500 or 2600 etc..
