My favorite Trek sidearm is the TOS type-2 phaser. It's probably my favorite ray gun, period.

The only-seen-once phaser rifle from Where No Man Has Gone Before. It had a great 1950's look to it, and it was powerful enough for Kirk to take down an entry-level god with it.

Though Kirk-Fu is a tempting choice, I think the greatest weapons used in Star Trek were the crews minds. The greatest triumphs were when they didn't have to use their arsenal to beat the bad guys.

I think the Gorn head was one of best done aliens. The TOS Gorn had a lizard head with faceted eyes, sort of like a bug eyed lizard creature. Really, a weird combination.
