Favorite episode of the entire series.
OK I want to honestly say I didn't want to criticize your personal preferences for ST, definitely entitled to your opinion. I ONLY bring it up because I responded to a thread where I recently added ST Voyager to my database (yeah i know it was late but its my least fav series) and I gave a list of about 9-10 episodes that I ranked less than 1 1/2 stars. The Thaw was on it.
Ok and humor me here, but within the ST world there are episodes that I like, perhaps even enjoy but am not really thrilled with, and The 37's is one of them. Within this nebulous world, there are other episodes I'd rank at the bottom and a rather large group of fair to good episodes...I'd rank a lot of other eps I think are more worthy above the 37's (and over and above that the heady world of great/classic episodes)...what do you like about exactly??

The Thaw gives us a quirky, surreal sci-fi adventure (it's actually quite similar to The Royale in this respect).
The 37's has Sharon Lawrence.
Forgot to add Unity to my list of favorites.
The Thaw has the feeling to me of an X-Files wannabe episode that is very badly executed. I gave it a second chance a few years ago and couldn't finish watching it.
If you had said Threshold or Sacred Ground, Mortal Coil, I'd have had to put you on ignore.
