Favourite Trek Easter Eggs!

F. King Daniel

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
By which I mean cute little references and things snuck in to please fans. What are your favourites?

In no particular order.....

-Scotty's pet tribble on Delta Vega (STXI)

-Four of Uhura's TOS earpieces as a forcefield projector (ENT: "Vox Sola")

-The painting of the Ringship Enterprise (ENT: "First Flight", "Home")

-The TOS phaser sound used on the bridge as the USS Kelvin fired (STXI)

-The early Excelsior and Enterprise study models used in the starship junkyard (TNG: "Unification")

-The Christopher Pike Medal of Honor (some TNG episode. He also got a shuttle named for him in "The Most Toys")

-The Vanguard-style station (from the novels) in TOS-R "The Ultimate Computer"

The best Trek Easter Egg, in terms of how "Easter Egg" is now commonly used to describe hidden goodies on DVDs, is Patrick Stewart's hilarious song and dance routine in full uniform on the Enterprise D Bridge set, which can be found on one of the later season TNG season sets directly after the listed tribute to Gene.

When Ron Moore did nuBSG, in some of the FX scenes of the fleet doing a "fly by," behind the ring ship, in the distance, you can see the original USS Enterprise shadowing the colonial fleet.

**********

In one of the old saturday night live skits, two comedians playing Data and Worf are discussing Valentines Day.

Data: "I don't understand how a Saint being beheaded, resulted in a day devoted to romance?"

Worf: "For Klingons, a beheading is romantic.
