And the planet-killing ice cream cone too.

Indeed. Um, are we forgetting the Romulan from the episode were Kirk has to go into the Neutral Zone?

And Charon (The guy from "May this be your last battlefeild")

And what about the Characters from "Shore Leave"?

What episode is Nomad from? Sorry guys, don't think I saw that one. The Romulans are up there. There is Romulan Commander (Mark Lenard) from "Balance of Terror", and Female Romulan Commander from "The Enterprise Incident".

Yeah, never saw that one. Again, apologies to fans of that episode and character. I didn't see it and I didn't catch that the episode had a villain when looking over the episodes to find villains. It was a hard list to compile with so many episodes and so many villains in the history of the series. You can imagine how confusing it was when I had so much trouble juggling all the information that I left out my own personal favourite! Since I couldn't vote for Khan, I picked Romulan Commander, even though I seriously considered Koloth and Evil Kirk.

The Romulan Commander wasn't very villainous. He was actually a very polite, noble, moralistic and dignified man...he's only a villain for the requirements of the story, but certainly not personality-wise. I think I'm biased because I like Mark Lenard's style of acting so much. Both as the Romulan Commander and Sarek, he had such a unique charisma and a flair for delivering dialogue that just made every moment he was onscreen enjoyable. I especially love that fantastic final shot of him after he says "one more duty to perform" and then collapses with a look of anguished shock on his face as everything explodes around him. I thought it was an even more memorable and riveting death scene for a villain than Khan's in "Star Trek II".

Understandable :)

I found Nomad very scary as a kid. M-4 as well (Flint's robot, parts of which were used to build Nomad).

It behooves me to vote for Kor, not only because I knew Mark Lenard's commander would be taken care of in the poll anyway (but why not more votes for Chavarnek?) but because Romulans aren't villains. They are 'of a kind' after all.

And Kor is an unapologetically glorious villain. :rommie:

I'm at a loss as to how you could consider Stiles a villain.

All I meant was, Stiles is not very likable and causes unneccessary tension on the bridge by throwing his bigoted accusations around and questioning the Captain's abilities. I realize this is one of this episode's many "B" stories (there are a lot of them in this episode!).

The Romulan Commander was a loyal soldier, following orders even though he had mixed feelings doing so.

I voted Balok's puppet because that is one scary-looking creature, especially when I saw it first as a child. The Corbomite Maneuver often seems forgotten, but I love the twist ending and it is one of my favorite episodes.

I do think the Romulan Commander was an excellent adversary. As such, he would be my next choice. But like others here, I have trouble labelling him a "villain".

Proconsul Claudius, I kinda liked this evil character followed closely by Landru. What I love about Claudius is his back stabbing of Merik right near the end of the episode, if only more villans like this were presented in later Star Trek incarnations.
