Favourite Fisticuffs

Boring answer, but I favor the original: Kirk brawling with Gary Mitchell. There's something about the camera work that really makes it live for me. :)

TOS: Kirk vs. Thelev in Journey to Babel. TOS was so thick with great Kirk-fu fisticuffs that it's hard to pick one, but I think this one is my overall fave for the sheer desperation of it and the fact that Kirk prevails despite getting straight-up shanked.

TNG: Tie between Worf vs. Duras in Reunion and (spanning a full episode of badassery) Picard vs. the mercs in Starship Mine.

DS9: Second vote for Sisko punching Q, just for the sheer humor value.

Movies TMP-NEM: Worf and Picard vs. Borg drones on the hull in First Contact. Runner-up: Kirk vs. "himself" in TUC, but more for comedic value.

NuTrek: Tie between the drill battle in ST09 and Spock vs. Khan in STID.

Fan film bonus: Lou Ferrigno as an Orion vs. an admirable take on Kirk-fu in STC's Lolani.

Picard sucker punching Sovak in 'Captain's Holiday.'

Picard's fight with the Nausicaan in 'Tapestry.' The man gets stabbed through the heart and laughs.

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie

nuKirk comes more from the Jonathan Archer school of fighting, i.e. really good at getting beaten the fuck out of him. Certainly entertaining to watch.

Spock kicks ass in multiple universes: prime, mirror and nuTOS. He's handed humans and aliens alike their cohones on a plate.:techman:

Runner up is actor/stuntman Jerry Catron, unbilled as Mr. Montgomery in "The Doomsday Machine". He shows off a few martial arts moves before Decker beats the crap out of him.

The only reason he lost was he fell for Decker's I'm an old man, let me kneel here and rest for a minute routine.

Beat me to it! I would add that Picard started the fight knowing that it wasn't going to end well and was really going to hurt!

Worf.
For some reason I've always loved the moment in Way of the Warrior where he fights off a Klingon in front of him with his Mek'leth, then, in almost the same motion and without even looking behind him just instinctively stabs behind taking out another.

My favorite fight would have to be the barroom brawl in "The Trouble with Tribbles."

Favorite fighter? Not sure, but let's give a shout-out to Yeoman Martha Landon in "The Apple," who pulls some judo moves worthy of Emma Peel or Batgirl . . . .

Really? 13 posts in, and no love for Sisko popping Q right in the kisser?
Good ... Q get knocked on his ass.

Bad ... it was an episode into which Q appeared.

:)

I also want to give a nod to the DS9 episode where Kira and Sisko are taking out Klingons left and right as they board the station. (I think it's one of the early episodes when the Fed/Klingon treaty is dismissed yet again due to a disagreement on whether or not to fight an enemy).

Sisko more than held his own in a fight scene. He battled off Jem'Hadar , Klingons, Q even, hand to hand, without so much as breaking a sweat

That DS9 ep is 'The Way of the Warrior', the first episode of season 4. Every one of the main cast members becomes a total bad ass, and fights off trained Klingon warriors, except O'Brien who is knocked out  The writers must really have it in for O'Brien . Legend has it that Ira Steven Behr wanted an 'O'Brien must die!' episode every season

Oh, it ain't legend :) The writers have said so themselves. But you gotta hand it to O'Brien -- he fixes the station, romances his wife, plays darts, and shoots Klingons, all with his sleeves rolled up. He's a working man, dammit, and a good one at that.

:borg:

I will show some love to Riker XD.. his fight with the alien possessed Admiral in the first season . Don't remember the episode name but it was when those alien creatures infested the Starfleet and Riker pretends that he it infected too lol

I always smile at the fight in the Vengeance engine room where Khan, Kirk and Scotty take on some Section 31 goons. Khan does a kick which sends his opponent flying just like a knockout blow in Street Fighter II. Gotta love action movie physics.

Also the Klingon whupping at the start of ENT's Augment trilogy. The cartwheeling, flipping, ultra silly disruptor-bolt avoiding, momentum-building move which ends in an almighty heart punch and a Klingon sent flying up the corridor.
