Agreed, so here's my runner up:

End of Act Two of Balance of Terror.

Red alert / battle stations kicks in.
Kirk: "I hope we won't need your services, Bones."
McCoy: "Amen to that. You're taking a big gamble, Jim."
McCoy leaves the briefing room, Kirk follows, but Sulu is holding the door open. Kirk exits and the camera tracks with him and Sulu as they stride the corridor as music from "The Naked Time" plays over the shot of the busy hallway.

It's bursting with energy and urgency and still brings a chill to me. It's a hell of an act-ender.

One more:

"What is it cap'n?"
"Cestus Three as been destroyed." Boom. That's it. No Kirk out, just off to the opening titles.

That's a great one too...100% agree.

Your sentence is non grammatical. The meaning is not obvious and I would have to think about it for a while to guess what you meant. How can I know if I agree or disagree with your statement?

Something like this put in Act One would have spared the episode at least one instance of not making sense

I'm guessing after Spock told Kirk about the ancient marauders of Epsilon Indi, Kirk must have gone into the records computer of the area and dug up some information on them! Perhaps Gorgon was not the name of the alien but his title as leader of the group? :wtf:
JB

That's the idea, but I had Spock speculating about something the Vulcans had experienced with the marauders at the time, as a line to Kirk. Exposition 101; tell the audience directly through dialog.

I like the Act end in "Friday's Child" when Scotty says "Take us out of orbit, Mr. Sulu," and the music is so stirring. It was also heard for the rocket launch in "Assignment: Earth," and partially for approaching the Barrier in "By Any Other Name."

Kirk's silent look last scene of The Mennagerie.

Okay, let's take a breath here...

First welcome to the board. A+ for enthusiasm.

Second, please take some time to review the rules for posting here, pinned at the top of this forum. Specifically, the one about resurrecting dead threads.

This one has been dead for just over 2 years now. Let's let it rest in peace, shall we?
