The Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "Amends." It had some great flashbacks to Angelus' past. It established the First Evil long before he became the big bad in Season 7. And Buffy provided what was, in essence, the thesis statement for what would become the Angel spin-off when she said, "Strong is fighting. It's hard, it's painful, and it's every day. But if you die now, all you ever were was a monster!"

I love this episode. I rememeber watching it and thinking that they should do an Angel spin off. "Angel's on top again?"

One of the weirdest Saturday Night Live sketches I've ever seen-- the police come to the house of a family that complains that Santa didn't deliver any presents again this year. At first, the police think that the presents were really stolen and the parents are just making a show of all the Santa talk for the kids. But as it goes on, it becomes clear that, somehow, no one ever told these parents that there is no Santa Claus. So whenever they don't receive presents on Christmas Day, they assume that either Santa couldn't find their house or that he didn't like the milk & cookies they left for him or that they simple weren't good enough that year.

Also, basically any of the NewsRadio Christmas episodes.

DAVE: "Joe, what are you doing?"
JOE: "You know how you get back from Christmas and it's kind of a let down because all the decorations are still up. Preemptive strike."

Blackadder's Christmas Carol

Yeah, that is a really good one, absolutely spot on.

One of my favourites is the Extras Christmas Special, Ricky Gervais's impassioned and deadly serious speech about reality TV and the nature of fame and friendship was really moving, you could tell he meant every word of it and that he was speaking from experience.

I think the entire nation was cheering when Del and Rodney were sitting in the van, and Rodney reads the auction house statement confirming the sale of their antique watch for six million pounds.

I loved the Xfiles episode but thank you, Gojirob-the MASH episode where they work so hard to keep the brain-dead soldier alive tears me up every time I see it. Probably one of the most emotional Christmas episodes of any tv show, ever.
