Favourite Audiobook?

Hi @Detaith911 , and welcome to the board!

I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve modified the thread title slightly, so as to be more indicative of the topic of the thread. The original version seemed a bit vague.

I have quite a few favourites, but I like to remind people of how good “Strangers from the Sky” is. Back when the novels were greatly abridged for audio to fit the story into a 90 min. tape, they managed quite a feat with this “giant” novel. Narrated by George Takei, with Leonard Nimoy as the voice of Spock, and original music.

After so many decades, what a thrill it was to get an unabridged "Star Trek: The Motion Picture: 40th Anniversary Edition" audio, written by Gene Roddenberry, and read by Robert Petkoff in 2019, 395 min.

I was coming into the thread to suggest this very one!

I have Ds9 warped read by rene Auberjenois

I also liked this one. But I liked the novel, and it is not liked for some reason. (I picked up the audiobook cheap years later.)

Rene's narration of the audio abridgement made "Warped" way more enjoyable than the book.

I haven't ever gone back to it. Maybe the book wasn't as bad as I remember, but at the time I was underwhelmed, and its disappointing sales killed off DS9 hardcovers for many years. I remember my bookstore remaindering the hardcovers to $3 and the MMPB to $1 -- and they still couldn't shift them!
