Favourite and Least Favourite James Bond films?

. . . I love how people moan about how unbeleivable an invisible car is...but obviously a hollowed out volcano, rockets that eat other rockets, secret nuclear rocket toppling bases and huge lasers in space made the Connery era so believable
You Only Live Twice is easily the worst of the Connery Bond flicks. It's the first to diverge markedly from Fleming's original material -- about the only thing the movie has in common with the book is the Japanese setting and some character names. It was the first Bond film to go completely over-the-top into fantasy territory. I mean, really -- a secret SPECTRE rocket base in a volcano? All that excavation, blasting, construction, bringing in supplies and equipment must have taken several years. But somehow they've kept it secret!

That little autogyro was pretty cool, though.

Favourite: Goldeneye

Least Favourite: A View To A Kill

Most Underrated: Tomorrow Never Dies

Most Overrated: Goldfinger

Most favorite: The Living Daylights, Moonraker, Thunderball, The World is Not Enough.

Least favorite: Quantum of Solace and Live and Let Die.

Favorites: Any Sean Connery Bond film except "Never Say Never Again."

Least favorite: I'm with everybody on the "Quantum of Solace" dislike. Even the title is stupid.

I'm a very casual fan of this series. I've never found any of the movies particularly memorable. I saw "Goldfinger" fairly recently and while I thought it was good, it didn't do much for me (although I think the girl in that has the best movie character name in the history of movies). I like all the Brosnan ones except "Die Another Day". I guess "Goldeneye" is my favourite, but that's mostly due to nostalgia and love for the N64 game.

Quality-wise, I think "Casino Royale" is the best one I've seen. I can't remember much about the other Connery ones I've seen, but I hated "Thunderball" from start to finish. That underwater action sequence just went on and on and was so boring. I remember thinking "The Man with the Golden Gun" was fun, but it was ultimately forgettable (again, I liked the girl's name).

I've seen most but not all Bond's and also my memory is patchy on some (been a while). I would say Casino Royale is my favourite a more serious gritty Bond whose closer to the actual character created by Ian Flemming. My least favourite probably would be On Her Majesty's service from what I've heard but I've never seen it bar a few minutes so I'd go for Moonraker.

Since Bond came back though from its death bed with Goldeneye in the 90's I would say Die Another Day was the worst.

Most Underrated: Tomorrow Never Dies

I agree with this, I've always enjoyed Tommorow Never Dies and is PB's 2nd best Bond movie. Also with the op who said View The Kill was unrated I'd agree with that too though Roger Moore did play Bond for way way too long.

Favorites: For Your Eyes Only, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Living Daylights and Goldfinger

Least favorites: The World is Not Enough and You Only Live Twice

My favourites:

From Russia with Love, OHMSS, The Spy Who Loved me, The Living Daylights, Goldeneye.

The worst:

Thunderball, For your eyes only, The World is Not Enough. All are incredibly dull.

Underated gem: Die Another Day. I recently rewatched this and frankly I love it right up until the end, an invisible car I can deal with but Toby Stephens in a robot suit? I love how people moan about how unbeleivable an invisible car is...but obviously a hollowed out volcano, rockets that eat other rockets, secret nuclear rocket toppling bases and huge lasers in space made the Connery era so believable

Overrated gem: Casino Royale. It's good, but most of its strength is Craig. OVerlong, badly paced...

My absolute favourite if I only had one Bond film to watch for eternity?

OHMSS, fantastic film. Would have stunk with Connery in it!

Agree 100% :bolian:
