Favorite Special Guest Stars

Who are your favorite special guest stars, on the Star Trek shows? Mine are:
Yvonne Craig, as a barefoot green-skinned girl, on Star Trek
Joan Collins, as Deanna Troi's troublesome mother, on Next Generation!

I don't know if Orser is big enough to qualify for special guest star.

He's really one of those That Guy... Who Was in That Thing brand of actors.

My son is going for an employment urine test tomorrow. Do you think that should be a requirement to post here?

Anyhow, James Cromwell and his "maximum security sisfility" was a good guest star on TNG.

The ones named in the OP weren't billed as "special guest star" either, so I thought this thread was going to be a bit different instead of the same people we go through every time. :shifty:

I actually kind of liked "Tsunkatse". :alienblush:

It doesn't matter whether you liked Tsunkatse or not! :shifty:

I naively thought the earlier references to Iggy Pop and Mick Fleetwood were jokes. Heh.

For mine: I was always fond of Ken Jenkins as Stubbs, and Jason Alexander's turn on Voyager. Ashley Judd as Lefler of course, and Kurtwood Smith (I guess he's more of a "That Guy") whenever he turned up. For TOS it's William Marshall, Skip Homeier, Diana Muldaur and Morgan Woodward.

Fan film addendum: Michael Forrest is arguably (and surprisingly) better in STC's "Pilgrim of Eternity" than he was in the actual TOS episode to which it's a sequel. And Lou Ferrigno of all people shows up in "Lolani," as incomprehensible as ever but -- as someone who watched him as the Hulk when I was a kid -- getting to see him play another green bruiser was pretty sweet.

Whatever the nomenclature used in the credits, I would have to rate Brad Dourif high up on any list. Going a bit further back, Steve Ihnat's Garth was very enjoyable to observe as it was a relatively rare instance of seeing that eminently worthy actor get a chance at scenery chewing whilst still mixing in a few moments of candid introspection. :bolian:

Sarah Silverman, who Guest Starred on VOYAGER. Although her comedy's always been very "Hit-or-Miss," her hand is often intelligently played. When she's good, she's outrageously funny. On STAR TREK, her performance was very charming and adorable and her presence is missed, when she's not onscreen. Just everything that part required. And, at the time, too, she was an exceptional beauty - truly exquisite, in many ways.

Both great picks. :techman:
