I've always thought the Ambassador was the coolest.

It really is a great design. Aesthetically pleasing and intimidating.

I wish they'd used the same Ambassador design onscreen as the one which appeared on the briefing room wall in the first few seasons of TNG.

(If you look close, the Enterprise-C that we actually saw in "Yesterday's Enterprise" was not the same as the one depicted by the model on that wall. I liked the wall model better.)

I couldn't disagree more strongly.The TOS Enterprise still looks beautiful, graceful and majestic 47 years after it was created. Part of the reason is that it incorporates classical proportions into its design.

It coinciding with some geometry doesn't make it any less atrociously hideous to me; you're free to disagree though, just stating my opinion. As you yourself noted, mileage may vary.

I once considered making a game using the Soyuz Class because it was an odd variation of the Miranda Class. Everywhere I read people said all those things on the turrets were not guns/phasers, they were sensors! I guess they are what you want them to be. I never got the game off the ground, but I still like the Soyuz.

Sovereign-class, no question. It's everything good about 24th-century design rolled into one package.



Runners-up would probably be Galaxy, Defiant, Akira, and Steamrunner. Excelsior I like a lot too, and it also gets credit for being the only TOS ship that was anything other than "not quite as ugly as the first one" at best.

I would agree, Enterprise-E was and is the BEST!!!

i know some people get all flatulent about it because it looks like the akira from 1 angle, but it looks awesome.

maybe it should've been coloured a little more like the tos enterprise though.
