For me it was near the end when the Enterprise warps in with phasers blazing to save Spock.
The opening sequence was so amazing, so probably that.
Agreed. I was amazed how little fucking around there was before they got right into it.
The opening sequence, especially when George is talking to Kirk's mom as he's about to die... only Trek movie scene to ever get me to tear up a little bit, and these were characters that we had only known for 10 minutes!
Kirk's confrontation with Spock on the bridge was pretty good too.
My eyes stung with tears at this:
"James T. Kirk."
"Who are you?"
"I have been and always will be your friend."
so poetic. i loved it.

That was freakin' hilarious. My favorite was when Chekov had trouble saying his security code. Reminded me a lot of the dialogue from the Star Wars prequels.

For me it's the first engagement between the Enterprise and Narada. From when they come out of warp and nearly crash into the destroyed fleet, to the Enterprise getting pounded by missles, and then to Nero calling out young Spock to everyone's surprise.
It probably helps that it's also my favorite piece of music on the soundtrack.
