Favorite Sarah Jane Smith moments

In light of recent news, I thought it would be nice to look back at all of our favorite Sarah Jane moments, whether from Classic Who, NuWho, or The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Images are more than welcome!

Let's not forget K-9 and Company!

I'm going to have to think about this for awhile, but my first thought is when Sarah Jane discovers the TARDIS in "School Reunion." Brings a tear to my eye every time.

I really have to agree with you there. Brilliantly played.

My favorite Sarah Jane moment is when Tom Baker's Doctor returns her to Earth so he can go to Gallifrey and after he leaves she discovers he left her in the wrong place.

Another favorite: "Eldrad must Live!"

Anytime she was on-screen.

I'm torn up about this. Not just in the 'she was my first crush' kinda way... which maybe she was... But also in the 'think of all the kids who are going to be saddened by this news' way. Elizabeth wasn't just The (3) Doctor's Sarah Jane, or MY Sarah Jane - she was Sarah Jane for kids of THIS generation too!

She's truly a TIMELESS beauty and classy lady. (I thought of typing, 'timeless' before it hit me how perfect that word was).

Elizabeth will be missed by so many people of ALL ages. How wonderful is that, really? How many actors can that be said of? A few, but not many.

Been watching the Five Doctors recently. Always fun to see different eras meeting.

Becoming a fan with Nu-Who, "School Reunion," and the first season of The Sarah Jane Adventures is pretty much my experience with the character, but what I saw, I liked.

I really did love her and Rose's attempt to one-up each other. It really showed the great adventures each companion had.

Sarah: I saw things you wouldn't believe!
Rose: Try me.
Sarah: Mummies.
Rose: I've met ghosts.
Sarah: Robots. Lots of robots.
Rose: Slitheen. In Downing Street.
Sarah: Daleks!
Rose: [smugly] Met the Emperor.
Sarah: Anti-matter monsters!
Rose: Gas-mask zombies!
Sarah: Real living dinosaurs!
Rose: Real living werewolf!
Sarah: [emphasizing each word] The Loch Ness monster!
Rose: [stunned] Seriously?

Convincing the delirious Doctor to help in "Robot".
Trying to escape from the Thals in "Genesis of the Daleks".
Defeating Mr. Smith in "The Lost Boy".
Threatening Davros in "Journey's End".
The entire second part of "The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith".

The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith was definitely one of her best outings. Not just because the Doctor was in it, but because of how Sarah Jane portrayed the loss that she felt. Forget about SJA being a kids show, that was real adult drama right there, and Elisabeth Sladen absolutely nailed it. Not to mention the parting scene at the end with the Doctor. "Is this the last time I'm going to see you?" meaning Tennant's Doctor, not the Doctor in General, to which he replied "I don't know... I hope not."

Stellar performances all round.

'School Reunion'

It was my introduction to the character, and I liked the whole thing, beginnin' to end.

I don't know what my favourite Sarah Jane moment is. As a kid I know that I used to look up to her. She was smart and independent and had her own career. She used to get scared and the Doc had to rescue her but she was her own person and a great role model for a child my age. I didn't realise until I met Sarah Jane again as a grown up what she had meant to the young me. Here is my favourite picture of her:

I really would have a hard time saying, but Brain of Morbius and Pyramids of Mars do come quickly to mind as favorites.

I also liked this image, Elisabeth Sladen in 'Much Ado about Nothing' from 1964. Has anyone come across other images of Lis Sladen in other roles?

Thats a lovely picture, she can't have been more than 16 then. It strikes me that I've never seen her in anything where she wasn't playing Sarah Jane.
