Favorite minor classic references in New series?

Mr. Sin

Commander
We know that the series shares a lot of continuity with the old, the Doctor, Tardis, Daleks, Cybermen, Master, Davros, Macra, Autons/Nestenes, Sarah Jane, K-9 etc. Plus there's the ocassional nod to past Doctors (Time Crash, Human Nature, the Next Doctor) However, there are a few smaller nods that might fly over the heads of newer fans, but are kind of cool for those who enjoy both series, or even the expanded novels/audios.
Some examples:

Kronkburgers-mentioned in passing in "The Long Game", the Kronkburgers are from DWM's very first Doctor Who comic series, the Iron Legion.

Jaime-The Doctor uses the alias Jaime McCrimmon, a reference to the Second Doctor companion played by Frazier Hines, in "Tooth and Claw".

Demons-The Doctor references the Draconians, Daemons, and the Kaleds (the humanoid species who evolved into the Daleks). Also, the Beast is voiced by Gabrielf Woolf, who did the voice of Sutekh in Pyramid of Mars. Interestingly, Satan was one of the names of Sutekh according to the Doctor.

The Ood-The Ood are said, and intended to be, genetic cousins to the Sensorites from way back in the Hartnell era.

The Key to Time-A reference in Sarah Jane, of course.

The Master-Several here, apart from the character himself. The most obvious being the use of Delgado and Ainley's voices, but also the Master's mistaking a TV show for a look at an alien race (Clangers/Teletubbies) from The Sea Devils, a reference to the Axons (Claws of Axos) and the Sea Devils again. Also, the X-ray Master in "End of Time" is very much a visual reference to the Peter Pratt/Geoffrey Beevers decaying incarnation (The whole skull with eyes bit, mainly).

This one is iffy, but in Torchwood Captain Jack refers to fairies as a "Kind of Mara". The Mara in the original series was a snake-like monster that tended to mentally possess Tegan a few times.

A couple of The Web Planet references, with the Face of Boe being a resident of the Isop Galaxy, and the Slitheen remembering her father threatening to feed her to the venom grubs if she hadn't performed her first kill.

Jaime-The Doctor uses the alias Jaime McCrimmon, a reference to the Second Doctor companion played by Frazier Hines, in "Tooth and Claw".
This has to be my favorite minor reference. I kind of wish there were a few more minor references to previous companions like this.

The Ood-The Ood are said, and intended to be, genetic cousins to the Sensorites from way back in the Hartnell era.
This was also cool but I had been hoping for exactly that kind of reference going into "Planet of the Ood."

The Key to Time-A reference in Sarah Jane, of course.
Another fine reference, but you forgot another from that same conversation: The Eternals (as seen in Enlightenment).

Reference to the Zodin (from The Five Doctors and Attack of the Cybermen) in one of the SJA episodes, looking like Fimbles.

I liked the description of Gallifrey that the Doctor gave to Martha in one episode (I think it was Gridlock?). It matched Susan's description of Gallifrey that she gave years and years ago.

This one is iffy, but in Torchwood Captain Jack refers to fairies as a "Kind of Mara". The Mara in the original series was a snake-like monster that tended to mentally possess Tegan a few times.

It was, but the Mara is also a proper Earth legend that fits much better with the Fairies than the snakelike Who entity does, so I would suspect that was intended as the actual reference.

Another fine reference, but you forgot another from that same conversation: The Eternals (as seen in Enlightenment).

The Enternals get a mention in Army Of Ghosts/Doomsday too they have a name for the void (The howling?)

It's not a delibrate reference, but The Age Of Steel pays homage to The Five Doctors - Above, Between, Below.

In the same story Lumic's bogus company is named after Tobias Vaughn's from the Invasion, and the whole script rips off the Dalek Invasion Of Earth in several ways.

My favorite nod to the Third Doctor from The Lazarus Experiment:

"Really shouldn't take that long to reverse the polarity. Must be out of practice." - The Tenth Doctor

Simm watcing the Teletubbies was my favourite :D
Ah, yes! I had forgotten about that one. Nice touch that moment.

The Ood-The Ood are said, and intended to be, genetic cousins to the Sensorites from way back in the Hartnell era.
This was also cool but I had been hoping for exactly that kind of reference going into "Planet of the Ood."
They did mention the Sense-Sphere system in that episode...
You misunderstand me. I know they mentioned that, I was just noting that I had gone into the episode expecting such a reference.

I liked the description of Gallifrey that the Doctor gave to Martha in one episode (I think it was Gridlock?). It matched Susan's description of Gallifrey that she gave years and years ago.
Yes, that was from "Gridlock." Beautiful moment.

Jaime-The Doctor uses the alias Jaime McCrimmon, a reference to the Second Doctor companion played by Frazier Hines, in "Tooth and Claw".

This is my favorite.
See, though I'm certainly aware of Jamie, this reference is one that has flown right over my head until now. Very cool.

In "School Reunion", there were a number of classic references when Sarah Jane is rhyming off a bunch of monsters she encountered while travelling with the Doctor.

Probably the Macra reference in Gridlock was my favourite.

This. Not only from a Troughton story. But a 'lost' one as well!

I forget the exact quote, but Planet off ther Ood, where the Doctor mentioning that the Ood homeworld is located somewhere near the Sense Sphere.
