Favorite Michael Jackson videos

Smooth Criminal.. the movie version.

I'm still blown away today at the near perfection of the video.. the dance choreography, the setting, the costumes and THE LEAN

Whenever i hear and see i involunntarily get a move on.. it is that good and i got really upset when some years ago the music TV stations only showed an adapted, i.e. cut up and retooled version of it (probably due to movie rights). It ruins the whole thing.

Indeed. That video is pure perfect.

At first the shirtless, part-naked Michael in "You Are Not Alone" seriously creeped me out...but the song is so damn touching and affecting that I've learned to pay more attention to half-naked Lisa Marie and focus on the beautiful backgrounds.

Another one I liked was In The Closet with him and Naomi Campbell in a Herb Ritts, black & white soaked sensuality. Herb Ritts also directed Janet's "Love Will Never Do Without You" and Chris Issak's "Wicked Game."

I'd like to mention two others..

"Gone to soon" and "Man in the Mirror". Gone to soon is a less well known song but both videos have a documentary style about them.

Gone to soon is about a small boy who's terminally ill with cancer and the video features footage of his visit to Neverland Ranch and meeting Michael.

Man in the Mirror is well known.

These videos just have tremendous emotional impact due to their documentary style showing us a real version of the world.. i wholeheartedly believe that Michael was a good guy who wanted to change and better the world but inside never moved much past the child stage. I think his backstory is tied to that which is why he never "got" it that as an adult you just can't do some things and above all shouldn't do some things.

In the last years his creative energy wasn't enough to overcome his physical, monetary and psychical problems but we will always have his huge library of songs and videos to enjoy.

I will truly miss him and to this day i still play his old material.
