Favorite Back Cover

My favorite is the one for The Way of the Warrior novelization, which I actually wrote (the back cover copy, not the novelization), because I got to say: "Sisko must risk destroying the Federation-Klingon alliance to prevent a full-scale war!" The joke being that, usually when you write that text, it's a given that Sisko will suceed, but, in fact, the Klingon-Federation alliance is destroyed in the story........

(What can I say, I'm easily amused.....)

I remember having to write the jacket copy for the novelization of NEMESIS, which was a challenge because the script was top-secret and nobody was allowed to tell me what the movie was about. As I recall, I ended up writing something generic along the lines of:

"Nothing Captain Picard and the legendary crew of the Starship Enterprise have ever encountered before has prepared them for the startling new challenge that lies before them . . .. "

And so on. :)

Mine are either Errand of Fury or Janus Gate, those lower deck trilogies, or maybe it was both sets, where the blurb on the back had nothing to do with the story inside.

I know that happened with The Janus Gate. I don't think it happened with EoF as well, but I'm not sure.

That sounds right. Didn't some book reviewer get busted because it was obvious he or she wrote the review based on the back cover and it was obvious they hadn't actually read the book?

Its funny but I still really like the back of the novelization of the TNG 2 parter "Descent". It was the first Star Trek book I ever read.
