Favorite Garak Costume?

Every time I see the gold one I think it looks vaguely like a TNG uniform. And then I wonder whether the writers and/or character would have done that on purpose.

all of them...but you forgot the tux!

You know, I thought he looked pretty good in that turtleneck, but I was more curious about his Cardassian-wear so...

(Sorry about the structure of the poll; it's my first and I had some trouble figuring it out.)

Though I didn't vote for it, I like the Brown Leather one too...it reminds me of G'kar's post-ambassadorial Narn-wear, and I like the idea that creatures with different skin textures/thicknesses would wear garments with different textures/thicknesses. I think it's interesting how most of Garak's costumes are made of thick rug-like material, as opposed to something thin and silky. The metallic Gold one I wonder if it was part of another alien costume they tried on Garak on some laundry-day since he wore it only once of twice.

You left out mirror-Garak's traditional Cardie body armor... I've always liked that costume on Garak or any spoonhead.

I tend to refer to the original and original-variant costumes as the Platonic Form of Ugly outfits. Good God. Horrifying.

My favorite is the red, with a secondary enjoyment of the M-jacket. (And, of course, his tux. Ooh, baby!)

The crew of DS9 has had an inordinate number of appearances in 20th Century formal wear. Odo and Kira especially look great in their tux and gown. Not to mention Ezri as a 50's waitress... :D

Other: Garak in Cardassian Gul's Uniform from the Mirror Universe.

Dangit, I was just going to post that very comment!

The Evil Elim was so oily, so menacing, so delightfully sadistic - yet strangely, the Evil Elim wasn't too much of a difference from the Good Garak, which I think is a great testament to Any Robinson's subtle, mysterious performance in teh character over the years.

Well, that's because Cardassians prefer a higher ambient temperature to humans. Garak often complained that Starfleet kept the air temperature too cold on the station.

Two racist epithets in as many sentences. Well done.

Look at the look on Garak's face in the Original Variant picture...no wonder the next costume they created for him was the Black one...that character was so intriguing it's no wonder he made it to series' end.

I like the Original better than the Original Variant though. I guess they were trying to tone down the character's flamboyance with the Variant, but it just looks too cobbled together and makes the look..."louder" somehow. If only they hadn't added the neck-piece. I see they were trying to butch him up by showing less skin, but with Cardassians, more skin looks tougher, more confident.

Same here.

The original striped costume was amazingly hideous, I'd forgotten all about it.
