I'm not very fond of commercial gelato. It can do in an emergency, but nothing like a cup from a local gelateria, made from fresh milk, high-quality ingredients, and the artisan's craft.Stracciatella and gianduja.
I guess you are unlikely to find them in your neighbourhood.
Carte d'Or do a very mediocre Stracciatella that's not really worthy of the name, but I'm fairly certain I've had a reasonable Gianduja from Haagen-Dazs. Sure, it's not a genuine gelato, so there's a textural difference, but it's actually good nonetheless.
