Favorite Enterprise and why?

I picked the Enterprise refit from the early movies.

The way I see it, the original Enterprise from TOS was a great looking ship. Advanced for its day, with so much potential, and room to grow.

The movie refit version is the same ship after puberty. More than beautiful, it's an absolute vision. A work of art. In my mind, no other starship Enterprise has EVER touched this version.

No Enterprise even touched the visuals of the 1701 Refit? What about A? They are visually identical: on the outside (except for visible registry).

Except books mean the most to me in terms of canon.

Books aren't canon though. That's one thing Star Trek has always been emphatically clear on.

No they are not Starship Class. At least not in the prime universe.

Dedication plaque says it is.

A Phaser Scematic (from "The Trouble With Tribbles") says Constitution Class.

What phaser schematic? I recall no such thing from Trouble with Tribbles, and indeed a Google search turns up nothing. Care to provide an image of this schematic?

I went with the Enterprise-D. I really like all of the Enterprises (well, except the reboot version), but the D is my favorite.

What, no CVN-65? I recall seeing photos of the carrier in TMP and in Archer's cabin.

Technically, the "refit" is the same ship from TOS, they just replaced like 99.57% of the original parts.

Well, they are outwardly identical since they were the same model. So outwardly, I was basically including it. However, there were differences inside that makes me prefer the original refit to the 1701-A.

This. It was in 'Space Seed' as well as in 'Trouble with Tribbles', illegible both times of course, but so is the dedication plaque.

The first time TOS Enterprise is confirmed to be Constitution class in dialogue is from TNG's 'Naked Now'.

Yeah, I voted for other. I prefer the TOS production ship best of all, and the J.J.-prise is pretty low on the list for me. I feel the secondary hull is just too off.

So, since the OP lumped them together I have to vote other.

But that makes no sense, as there are far more in the way of difference between the Prime and Abrams 1701 vs. the 1701/1701A.

Actually, Abrams 1701 and Original 1701 have the same registry number. E-A (1701A) has a different registry compared to 1701 of either universe.

I said earlier: no one gives fuck about the registry numbers. People choose their favourite ship based on how it looks, not by the registry number.

Anyway. I voted for Connie refit. It is not just the best looking Enterprise or best looking Trek ship, it is the best looking spaceship in any scifi franchise. The original is a close second as the two ships obviously have a lot in common.

Refit Enterprise. That shot against the moon is a classic shot. I think it was in the 5th film.

JJ's 'prise. is devoid of interest for me. The nacelles are too fat and large and they look disproportionate and gangly compared to the rest of the ship.
