Favorite Comic Book Story line or issue.

The one I remember liking was the Scourge plotline (minor supervillains getting murdered by a mystery assassin) that Marvel had going which came to a head in Captain America.

"Justice is served!!"

The original Omega Men series. Space Opera told superhero style. Also dig the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Shi'ar Imperial Guard for the same reason.

Oh yeah, and the Starjammers. Speaking of them, that Claremont storyline that had the Starjammers teaming up with the X-Men taking on the Brood...

...awesome...

Showing my age-the Volcana Ash storyline from Killraven-some of the prettiest art I'd seen up to that point and surprisingly adult writing as well.

My favorite is probably the entire Infinity Gauntlet story (including the lead up in Silver Surfer from the time Thanos was resurrected). The spin offs that followed weren't that great, but the initial Gauntlet story was a true showcase of what made Marvel cosmic great.

I would also throw in the first half of Preacher (concluding with War in the Sun). Everything before that was gold, everything after that was horrifically disappointing.

Agreed. It was anti-climatic for the most part. And I don't understand why he had to take apart Cass's character like that. Was he a stupid asshole? Sure. 100% pure evil who corrupts and destroys everything he comes across? I dunno....

I continually forget to include Captain America (current series) #7 - "The Lonesome Death of Jack Monroe." Every page of this issue screams "CRY, TOUGHGUY READERS! CRY!"

And then you do.

The Grail went from this all powerful all encompassing global conspiracy that can get an A Bomb on shorthand notice... to a washup messed up leader with a handful of goons. And Jesse didn't have jack to do with it! Not to mention you go from your own little war out in the desert... to small town sheriff and sausage enthusiast.

I'm going to give an answer for both, because I can't pick.

Single issue: "The Coyote Gospel" from Animal Man #5. The document that tells us how Wile E.-- er, I mean, Crafty the Coyote suffers for all cartoon kind. This is from the days Grant Morrison was crazy in a good way.

Storyline: "Brief Lives" from Sandman. One of the most surprisingly heartbreaking endings I have read.

Will Payton Starman. issue 35. written as a one off by Keith Giffen. This was the most hilarious comic I have ever or will ever read.
Starman meets Valor/Mon'el/Monel whatever they are calling him this week, the Scarlet Skier, and the galactus parody, um, who I can't remember the name of. All narrated by "Waatu, the Swatcher".

^I actually quite like the Will Payton Starman series. I was sorry they killed him off.

Some of the ones I always find myself re-reading.

Original Secret Wars

Thor's Blood and Thunder Saga

House of M(Including Avengers Disassembled)

Infinity Guantlet(Including Thanos Quest)

JLA vs. Avengers

Good call on both of those. I recently contemplated purchasing an Animal Man action figure, only to realize it felt inherently wrong to do so -- because of Morrison. And Sandman -- well, it's Sandman.

Story arcs:
The Death of Superman
Batman: Knightfall

Issues:
Ultimate Spider-Man #6
Ultimate Spider-Man #10
Ultimate Spider-Man #13
Ultimate Sider-Man #20

loved judge dredds 'judge child' story had the angel gang in it they are pretty funny.
liked the judge death story arcs too. something about judge death that though he's supposed to be evil he's pretty funny in some ways too.

DC Comics Presents the issue with Ambush Bug and the Legion of Substitute Superheroes.

I thought it was one of the funniest comic stories I ever read.

Planet Hulk - I really liked it. (Does not include Silver Surfer getting disk-ed tho'). It has several things going against it - improbable science, a Hulk that hardly ever powers down to Banner, Hulk being slightly unlikable etc. etc. But it really worked for me. I look forward to the Sakaar TPB when it comes out.

I also liked the Galactus storylines from the Silver Surfer and Fantastic Four early years. All about Eternity and Chaos and how he's their brother - the whole thing with Silver Surfer being exiled to earth and then freed again. While somewhat of a psychedelic space-trip, I truly adore it.

Then I really liked a story where Thanos wins the stones that are with the thirteen immortals (The Collector, The Champion, etc.) and how after winning them all, he still can't get what he desires. Forget what's the name.

I enjoyed a World's Finest imaginary tale in which Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne were raised as brothers.
