Following in the heels of The's mega-polls, I'm interested in seeing who is everyone's favorite Big Finish created companions. I wasn't sure if I should include Klein or not (largely because I haven't listen to her trilogy yet so I'm not certain about the exact nature of her relationship with The Doctor) but in the end I decided to include her. I was also not sure whether or not to include Amy/Abby but I decided to include her, too, because if Sara Kingdom is counted as a companion for many episodes over the course of one large story, so should Amy/Abby.

Well, it's Charley easily, but kudos also to Lucie and Evelyn.

Negative votes to Tamsin and fucking Thomas Brewster.

Tasmin is ok, but she's suffering from Martha syndrome. Her predecessor's arc is left unfinished.

Brewster is gone before he arrives! Looking forward to his return.

I don't hate Tamsin, but the way her character gets jerked around by Big Plot Ideas makes it impossible to get a hold on her. It's definitely a case of character being forced to serve the story, rather than the other way around.

I only heard Brewster in The Three Companions, and I wanted to stab him with a fork. I am disgruntled that I will have to purchase his return, as it also features the return of the divine DI Menzies.

There's some considerable time between two of Klien's adventures with 7, and the love of her life who she spent a little time kissing with
was entirely another Doctor Johannes Smit, but I may have said too much already
. No one holds a candle to Charlie, Oddly she's back for a companion chronicle this year.

I suppose I should throw in my two cents. I've only listen to Charley, Evelyn, Lucie, and Amy (just the first trilogy) to a large extent although I'll be listening to more Erimem soon and for the first time, C'rizz and Hex as well. I love Charley and Evelyn through and through but in the end I think I have to give the edge to Charley.

I tend to think of C'rizz as the Poochie of Big Finish. Which is a shame since they gave him some interesting and unusual character traits.

Erimem is an odd one. I didn't want too many 5th/Peri stories - they had two stories together (she joins, he dies!) so it never seemed a natural pairing to exploit. But adding Erimem to the mix made me want it to last for ages.

My wife and I just listened to all the C'rizz stories, and I think that once he gets out of the Divergent Universe, he becomes quite interesting. The darkness of him is a near idea, and I like his "normal" personality; he has quite a dry wit. Caerdroia, Other Lives, and Memory Lane do particularly well by him. Shame Absolution seems to have been written by someone who only read a vague outline of all the other ones.

It's really odd about Cr'zz that he didn't "look" human and barely ever came up that there weren't hillbillies with torches trying to ET him.

Hex is soooooooooo boring and they are placing far too much importanceon his mother hanging out with 6. Oddly though in the commentaries, I really like the actor he seems so genuine and happy. In the beginning when he was hitting on Ace that was fun, but it seemed like she was an old lady (she's probably almost 30?) telling a kid that he's to short to ride the rollercoaster.

It's between Evelyn and Erimen for me. Both bring a really unique view on the world, views that DW haven't explored much before. In the end though, Evelyn won for me.

Hey, did Mary Shelley travel with the Doctor before she was with him on audio or does she not count because she was a real person?

C'rizz is only in one historical, Other Lives, where he does get locked in a freakshow. Though the human-looking aliens who have never met other species before in Scaredy Cat and Time Works don't really react to him, either.

Mary was only in "Mary's Story" on The Company of Friends, and given that was only for 25 minutes, I think her exclusion is fair enough.

Although it's obvious from her writings that she was there on Mondas when the Cybermen first took root.

So, that's 2.

Evelyn for me, she suits the Sixth Doctor so well. About five years back it would have been Charley but she was so overused, and then her teaming with the Sixth Doctor didn't really work for me (and had a dicey payoff) that she's fallen back for me. Evelyn, on the other hand has been used just about right

and had a wonderful exit in A Death in the Family
