Largely an episodic show, Voyager gave us a dozen two-parters, four of which were presented as TV movie events. (Caretaker, Dark Frontier, Workforce, & Endgame)

Do you have a favorite two-parter?
How about a favorite cliffhanger?

My favorite cliffhanger is "Basics." Is Tom Paris dead? The Kazon have taken Voyager, the crew marooned. No one is coming to help. The Doctor has reactivated. Lon Sueder survived the wall exploding into his quarters. The final shot, Janeway and crew watching Voyager lift off and fly away, vanishing into the blue sky. As a kid, I had to wait all summer to find out what was going to happen.

Favorite two-parter, "Year of Hell," because it's a nice "what if" that shows just how far the crew would go, how much damage Voyager could take.

"Caretaker" will always have a place in my heart. My third favorite episode after "Cold Fire" and "Persistence Of Vision".

"Caretaker" is without doubt the pest pilot episode of any seris I've seen. It's exciting from beginning to end, the main characters are introduced very nicely and there are no dull sequences anywhere. It still gives me a special feeling to watch it, the moment when harry Kim says "we're on the other side of the galaxy" still gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.l remember thinking "now the adventure really begin" when I saw it for the first time.

If it had been possible, I would have voted for "Basics" and "Future's End" too. "Basics" is no: 5 on my all time Voyager list, after "Cold Fire", "Persistence Of Vision", "Caretaker" and "Warlord". Very exciting two-parter with Voyager actually being taken by the Kazon and how the crew had to struggle to solve the problems they were facing. When I first watched it, I had to wait six months before being able to watch part two. That was six long months!

"Future's End was a very good time-travel episode and it also gave us Voyager's best villain, Henry Starling!

I was torn between "Caretaker" and "Year of Hell".

I really enjoy Voyager's pilot episode, it sets up the show really well and gives a great snapshot of the characters, but I had to go with the latter as it was just brutal. Seeing them all so battered and bruised but still carrying on. It also makes me wonder what it might've been like to have gotten a whole season of hell (we did get it in Enterprise and it was a turning point for that show).

Actually, "WORKFORCE" didn't originally aired as a tv movie. It was "THE KILLING GAME". And "FLESH AND BLOOD" did the same, too.

I voted "SCORPION", because it was really well done. That might be the quickest teaser in part 1, but it was one of THE most effective ones in the franchise. Something that blew up TWO Borg cubes in a just a couple shots? THAT was jaw dropping.

I very nearly voted for "YEAR OF HELL". If I could do two votes, that would be my other, without a doubt.

I voted for Year of Hell. Great villain, and a cool concept.

Workforce is underrated, imo. It's a great ensemble episode; everyone of the crew gets something to do.

SCORPION hands down, closely followed by CARETAKER.

I love them all, with ENDGAME being my least favourite, partly for the usual reasons, partly simply for the fact that it concludes the series. Where are the remaining twenty-plus seasons of Voyager?

"Scorpion" edges out over "Dark Frontier" in that the former is introducing unknown variables and upping the ante (dealing with the devil), whereas the latter hinges and clings onto Seven's parents as an oh-what-a-shock-that-wasn't moment.

Which isn't to say DF doesn't have moments of greatness, both stories are fairly close...

"Year of Hell" is next - it was overall solid, still had some missed potential (e.g. the obvious "should have been a year-long arc"), a reset button (but we know Elmer never shoots bugs but get caught up in his moment anyway), and Anorrax - a name bestowed an hyperanalyizing geek who wants his love of his life back and is changing all of causality... and the name is also pronounced the same way "anoraks" - a British pejorative used by some to describe hyperanalytical geeks or nerds that enjoy sci-fi, who are told to "get a life" but can't be bothered to actually help - is. And yet they don't break the fourth wall in telling us how clever they are, which is actually the cleverest thing to do by far by comparison.

"Endgame" would be next, it's essentially "Timeless" on acid but still packs a reasonably robust punch. I used to champion a follow-up season. Since then I've come to realize that a year-long epilogue would be as bland as Babylon 5's revamped final season was. But I digress. Anyone wanna be the love of my life?

It's been about 5 years since I last watched Voyager. My favorite two-parter is Year of Hell, I still remember much of it. I also have a soft spot for Unimatrix Zero, which is just about the only episode with Seven that I actually like.
Workforce is so similar to the SG-1 episode Beneath the Surface that I remember much of it, even though I've always preferred the SG-1 take on the story.

I’d say Workforce, Scorpion, and Future’s End are my top three.

But if I had to choose one, I’d say Future’s End probably.

I'm the sole lonely vote for "Basics"! Though of course I knew I would be. That might be my most-watched Voyager episode, it is the very essence of "Ridiculous 90's Cliffhanger." I find it so soothing & nostalgic.

And I love yelling at the idiocy of Neelix being one of the four team leaders when they are first marooned on the planet (NEELIX as one of 4 leaders over the ENTIRE CREW of actual officers?) -- and then he immediately gets one of his charges killed at the start of Part 2! Neelix should be in the brig for criminal negligence! Forget justice for Tuvix, I want justice for Hogan!

"Future's End" and "Scorpion" are my runner-ups.

I think to this day I still haven't seen Part II of "Workforce." I can never make it past Part I in that story.

To be fair to Neelix, he does have YEARS of scavenging experience, and other than Kes is the only person from the Delta Quadrant. It made sense for him to lead a team. At least, it never bothered me over the years.

Hesitated a lot, ultimately voted for Caretaker. It's a well-executed opener.
But VOY's best episodes (Distant Origin, Blink of an Eye, The Void, ...) aren't 2-parters.

If all of Basics was like part II, I might have joined you (the "Suder redemption" arc was interesting, though I think he shouldn't have died, but lived with psychological scars from killing again, this time reluctantly - a lot of potential there), but part I is so bad. The writers made the whole crew act like idiots to contrive the conundrum they eventually find themselves in. Every possible mistake is made, no matter how obvious.
Then, in part II, the crew is suddenly mostly competent again.
