Fat Princess anyone?

Braindeer

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
My boyfriend and I have just downloaded this but we're having trouble getting the hang of it.

Anyone played it and can offer tips?! Our princess is just too damn fat to carry home!

I might be dreaming this, but I seem to remember there being a catapult you can use on the map that came with the beta anyway.

My PSN ID is Elemental_CM in case anyone wants to add me and play. Other multiplayer games I do: Warhawk, Metal Gear Online, LittleBigPlanet (in the middle of an awesome level construction), Street Fighter 4, Buzz Quiz TV. I'm sure I'm missing something...

You upgrade classes by upgrading the machinery at your base. You gather wood my chopping down trees and you gather rocks by doing pretty much the same thing to big rocks. All of this is in the tutorial btw. ;)

And if the princess is fat, more then one player can carry her.

Tutorial schmutorial...!

How you get other people to help you out? I know you can call out to others on your team but that seems to really only work online...otherwise, it seems like no one pays any attention!

All the bots will follow you if you use the up button.

And... I think online, people will most likely ignore you. :p

You know, I think that's the biggest problem with the game - a lot of people don't have a headset.

Well, that and there are no hosted servers. It's all P2P, so it's all lag all the time and if the host leaves, the game ends.. oh, and it's almost impossible to have a full game, so sometimes one team will have all bots.

I thought the beta was just placeholder, but oh well.

I'm not impressed that this game does not work. It's fun in singleplayer, but my patience is wearing very thin. How fucking hard is it, for crying out loud?

Considering damn near every console game where the focus is online multiplayer in recent years has had not insignificant issues out of the gate, I'd say pretty damn hard. Or the devs are being rushed by the publishers. Or the devs are hacks. Take your pick--any of those things probably apply.

I haven't played many console multiplayer games in recent years, but the ones I have in the past 12 months - CoD:WaW and L4D - have run like clockwork since day one.

Sorry, but Titan and Sony don't get a free pass on releasing substandard products simply because it's 'pretty damn hard' to make them actually work :)

Actually, online it was fine! Everyone worked together and we won pretty easily. But on single player it's just ridiculously hard! Maybe we're doing something wrong, but every time you get near that beast of a princess all the bots abandon you regardless of how much you tell them to follow you, and you can't carry her alone because she's such a monster!

Yeah, sometimes they won't help you carry the princess, but I find that they'll end up providing backup support to keep you from dying. :)

I just played a few full 32 player matches with very little lag.

Maybe it's fixed?

Either way, it was mad funness.
