Their Sony is that reason enough?Orac Zen wrote:
I can't recall if it was established at the time why Sony bought just the one season, and what the hell they intended to do with it. Did the reasoning (if that's the right word) ever emerge?
What? You mean you weren't provided with a full set of the show? What kind of frelled-up operation are those thoddos running, anyway? When I got the gig to cowrite the Farscape comic book, I had to track down the DVDs for seasons 2-4 and The Peacekeeper Wars. I only had the old ADV two-episodes-per-box DVDs for the first season, and nothing else.
PKW was easy enough to get, but the others were more of a challenge. Luckily, I was able to find good deals from Amazon Marketplace on all but one, and that one I got off eBay. I paid between $20 and $25 for all of them.
I'm hoping with the webisodes and the comic book, Sony might be interested in getting them back into print.....
That makes sense. It also makes sense that they'd sit on the first season 'til they get the rest. It'll be interesting to see what happens - I'd like to see some better quality sets available in R4. The ones we got were / are an absolute joke.Sony only bought the rights to S1 because those were the only rights available at that time, since S2-4 rights were still held by ADV.
Yeah, I'm pretty pissed about that because I never got the chance to buy the first season (I held off until they released them as single-sided, but then I never got to it). Stupid Sony.
eBay and Amazon Marketplace are your best bet for the first season, but it'll cost you a few pretty pennies.
Nah they'll just sit on the rights like they did with Transformers.amdmiami said:
Now, all the starburst editions have gone OOP. Is Sony ever planning on re-releasing them?
