Fantasy World Trek

I've long had a little head universe that took Star Trek and converted it into a fantasy world. I've been playing with Hero Forge, a custom miniature thing and made a bunch of things.

Just for fun, here is my crack at the fantasy world TOS crew... I tried to kind of keep the spirit of the character.

First we have Captain Kirk, galivanting across the four seas on the Enterprize, seeking out new lands, and saving damsels in distress wherever he may find them!

1KwAjAq.png

Joining him is his first mate, Mister Spock, from the desert sands of Vulcan's Forge. Spock is mostly concerned with exploration, often times annoyed by his captain's tendency for merrymaking.

These are also joined by Leonard "Sawbones" McCoy, the ships surgeon. Most try to steer clear away from 'ol Sawbones, who has a tendency to hack first, ask questions later.

The Enterprize would never stay afloat without the services of ships repairman and chief of sails, Montgomery Scott. It's always wise to keep Scotty away from the whiskey barrels...

18gMtuh.png

Also of critical importance to the crew is the ships Falconer, Uhura, who deploys were trained Falcons to deliver and receive messages from ashore.

Tjvs2Q9.png

The ship's navigator, Hikaru Sulu, should never be underestimated... as he is also a master swordsman and a deadly assassin.

prg7Kbi.png

Last but not least, the ships Master Cannoneer, the young Chekov from the halfling folk!

These were really just for fun. I've made all kinds of things. I'll post one more, that ended up being my favorite one (this and Kirk). Not TOS, but I made like, everyone... I love how this one came out...

Deanna of Troi, Counsellor of the Mages Circle of Betazed.

Some of the various races that inhabit this world...

The bug people of the cold northern regions of Andoria

zcXDrMM.png

A noble centurion, patrolling the borders of the Imperium Romulanum, ever vigilant as he watches over the Wall of Charon to prevent defend the Imperium against the barbarian Terrans and the treacherous Vulcans.

In the wastelands of the south lies the Klingon Horde. While the mighty Empire of Kahless has receded, the Klingon warriors are still a formidable threat.

tQTYIeN.png

A member of the United Federation of Kingdoms, the Tellarites provide strong, sturdy soldiers from their vast mountain halls

HglZoEG.png

A danger to all explorers of the four seas, the sirens of Orion lure unwitting crews with their often irresistible call

eSsQK9w.png

Not far from the watery kingdom of the Orions is the isle of Cardasssia, home to the serpentine Cardassians, "snakes" in both their physical form and in their dealings with others...

a87fxYc.png

Often referred to as "goblins", the Ferengi of the swamps of Ferenginar are mostly concerned with the acquisition of wealth. While generally a friendly people, they will not hesitate to backstab or plot if it means they could acquire more profit...

Far to the east, in the sun scorched lands of the Deltaqaudra, the Kazon tribes wander in the ruins of the Empire of their former masters. The Trabian Empire once held much of the Deltaquadra, until their cruel overreliance on slaves led to their undoing. Now, the Kazon have become the inheritors of their once mighty Empire, but without the means to maintain the advanced technologies, the Kazon live in ruins, using what scraps of civilization were left over by their Trabian masters.

Another race from the far east, in the upper Gammaquadra, lies a mysterious land known only as "The Dominion". The Federation of Kingdoms has begun to encounter Vorta Missionaries emerging from the Bajoran Maelstrom, spreading the word of their gods, the mysterious Founders.

pzq8Jyx.png

A darker side to the Dominion are its Jem' Hadar soldiers, the militant arm of the Founder gods. While the Vorta work to spread the word, the Jem Hadar seek to enforce their particular brand of order for their masters.

S8EY6pH.png

On a lighter note, back in the Deltaquadra, the valiant crew of the Voyager had encounter a curious folk early in their journey, the rodent-like beast people of the Talaxians. One of them joined up with the crew to serve as their cook, although it has been said that many were put off by a rat cooking their meals...

Very cool and creative! Not quite sure about the Cardassian though, I'd get them confused with the Selay. Not sure what else you can do within the limitations of Hero Forge though. Same with the Jem'Hadar, I thought it was a Gorn at first.

My favorite so far, oddly enough, is the Kazon! Love the interpretation of the "hair"!

The Gorn...

But yeah, there are definitely some limitations... I can't perfectly recreate anything, although i'm not actually trying to recreate things.

The Cardassians are one of the more extreme changes. I initially had them as just regular people, I was trying to find something to kind of replicate a Cardassian ear-ridge. They initially just had the cobra head, but when I went that far I was like... screw it, they'll be snake people.

One I think I was trying to do was give each alien race some kind of "style"... the Dominion is intended to be Japanese/general East Asian in style, the Kazon are kind of barbarian tribes with access to some better equipment from their former slave masters, the Klingons are sort of in the same boat, the Romulans are... Roman, Tellarites are Dwarves. I have a kind of map i'm working on, some of it based on geographic area... Orions and Cardassians both have a sort of ancient greek style, they exist close to each other.

Here's a Kelpian... I see them as tribal, somewhat amphibious mostly living along the shoreline.

4kyaTDv.png

A generic Vulcan, kind of obviously intended to be Elves.

yYDC1JS.png

There are Borg, I figure they are Necromancers. Most Borg are basically just zombies, then you have the actual necromancer types, but I think even they would be largely "brainless" so to speak... I have this idea that the way the necromancy works is that they raise their undead armies but they're all an extension of themselves, so the more they raise, the more their consciousness is split to the point that eventually the necromancer is basically just a zombie himself.

The Ocampa are like, fairy's/nymphs.

xDac5Fn.png

Here's one that was kind of "throw at the wall to see what sticks", also working within the confines of what Hero Forge has available... I made Chakotay, who is like a... dog-person. He started out as a bear, but I didn't like how it looked, went more Fox, but kind of kept the bear coloring.

ZAYBMlh.png

Data is kind of fun, and creepy looking. I'm not exactly sure WHAT he is, but he's some kind of fantasy robot thing (some kind of steampunkish magi-tech abomination). I went with the mask, kind of figuring his "face" is just kind of blank. It's his attempt at "emotion" and "looking human". Of course he has spot.

ov8vY4n.png

This one i'm including just for posterity, this was my first thing I made when I found Hero Forge, and got me started on this. Captain Picard...

hYv3psG.png

Downtime at work, tried another crack at a Cardassian. Kept some of the snake-theme. I think I got a little closer to a Cardassian-type uniform.

SAhd4bS.png

Other version, with helmet. I kept helmets off of most of them, I wanted to see their faces. In this case, I liked this particular helmet... I think it kind of resembles the Cardassian emblem...

nfElGmc.png

A couple more...

Romulans needs Remans, so here's a Reman... i'm seeing as the Remans as something of the Romulans Mages Guild. Romulans are super suspicious towards mages, given that many Vulcans are adept with magic. Remans are kept cloistered in dark, underground dungeons until needed.

A93XLkb.png

The Chalnoth, a race closely related to the Klingons and once a part of the former Empire of Kahless. The Chalnoth Lands are now dispersed throughout the Klingon Horde, acting as on again/off again allies/enemies, depending on external factors. If there are no outside wars, the Klingons and Chalnoth fight each other. If there's someone better to fight, Chalnoth will fight alongside Klingons.

bPeSbDa.png

I didn't bother to actually MAKE one, but there's an option for Centaurs... so... an island off the coast of the human lands will be "Centauri". The Centaurs are one of the first "beastfolk" that the humans met.

I forgot all about this one. This was actually a representation of this idea from when I had it a long time ago, way prior to finding Hero Forge.

Wilhem Ryker hails from the frozen northern extremes of the Al'Askan Territories. While a mountain of a man and a fierce warrior, Wilhem's time in civilized society led him to a fascination with music, especially the music from the city of Naulans. Ryker is not very adept at playing his chosen instrument, but being the towering warrior he is, few dare to tell him.

LD96NP5.png

Just to be different with it, I try not use the real human places... but like... slightly different sounding ones to represent them.

Ryker is from "Al'Aksa", Picard is a nobleman from the Labarre Province, Captain Sisko is from "Naulans" (which had in ancient past been conquered by the Labarrese before the unification of the United Terran Kingdom), there is a vast, rich hinterland known as Eowea, where Captain Kirk was from. Various Terran Kingdoms rose and warred with each other before ultimately unifying as one, and eventually being instrumental in unifying much of the other races in the United Federation of Kingdoms.

The Romulan Neutral Zone is a physical wall, the Wall of Charon, built by Romulan Emperor Charon after the failed invasion of the United Terran Kingdom. On the Romulans, there wasn't exactly an exodus away from the Vulcan lands. Rather, in the previous age... before the age of the Terran... several large empires spanned the world (on the continents in the Alpha- and Betaquadra Oceans anyway). The Vulcanian Empire was among the largest, so large that it began to buckle under its own weight as well as being in constant conflict with the Empire of Kahless. The Vulcanian Empire split ala the Roman Empire, the Eastern-most lands becoming the Imperium Romulanum and persisting into the modern era. The western Vulcanian Empire would recede to a fairly small area, having to content with the rise of Terrans and losing land. Eventually the Vulcanian Empire reorganized in the Republic of Vulcan, losing the vestiges of its former Empire, while the Imperium Romulanum continued to lay claim to the true legacy of the Empire.

Bajora is a small island off the coast of Cardassia, for much of it's history having been conquered by the Cardassians. It's notable for the Bajoran Maelstrom, a portal just off the coast of the island that sends ships to the Gammequadra Ocean on the far side of the world, if they survive the journey.

Somehow, I knew that when I saw the trombone when I was messing around in Hero Forge yesterday, that you'd use it for Riker!

It had to happen. With fairly limited means to try to portray some aspect of a character, when it drops something that specific like... it just has to happen.

Messing around with some of the lore here. I've changed around the Dominion a bit. Not sure if i'm in love with it yet, but it's a step forward.

The Founders are somewhere between Dragons and Demons, and their created servant races take on either draconic or lizardlike traits. I changed up the Vorta at the moment... since removing the snake head from the Cardassians, I was trying out slapping the snake head onto Vorta... thematically fits, the Vorta are... "snakes".

I made Q. Nothing too exciting, got the inspiration from the celestial race option. I was ALMOST going to make a Q a devil type guy, but I reverse it and he's more angelic in appearance. He's just a bored god who wants to come mess around with the mortals, but he's not evil.

Chakotay Mk II, made him more Foxy. Like this better.

LhvzWnT.png

Celestial being known only as Q

EtKG8PF.png

The rare sight of one of the Founders of the Dominion, referred to by some other races as an "Archdemon".

NfhLJa6.png

This is really stretching the Trek aspect, but I made it for the lore and I thought it looked cool, so here is a Centuari, the closest island to the Terran lands and the Terrans first encounter with "Beastfolk".
