fanfic challenge - poss spoiler alert

I've been watching all the Janeway bashing in the Lit forum and I have a thought. How about a fanfic challenge to write the resurrection? Am I out of line here?

I'd be interested to read these Janeway resurrection ideas. And I don't mind spoilers at all. If I had read the novel where she died off and wasn't working on my own Voyager fanfic right now, I might be interested to write one.

Rice A Roni is ok, but I have to tell you that there Australians out there offering chocolate, as "Violet Crumbles" etc. Which reminds me I still have one Violet Crumble bar left from the last stash sent to me.

Hmm..I know this sounds a little ODD, but maybe she could could back from something to a similar story of when Kirk supposedly died..like she came back from an alternate reality or something like that? Or maybe come back like Spock did in TSFS?? Maybe that's too unrealistic for the DQ and AQ though. Just some suggestions. I just don't want her to be dead.

Get writing all you talented people - I stumbled upon Trek BBS because I was incensed by the death storyline! Maybe the new evolved Borg that finished her off could clone her from their records of her DNA in an attempt to make themselves a new queen, then there could be a dramatic rescue and her consciousness could be returned from the Q Continuum and reintegrated to the clone by the Doctor like he does for Chakotay in Cathexis

Several have taken the challange up, and no nobody I know that writes wants to explore her death, we want her alive. I have written one but I will not post it here because it's of an "adult" nature. Those that have read it seem to like it.

Ironically enough there are plenty of stories out there that explore her death and the effects it has on her crew. The thing is though those same authors can then write a subsequent story where she is still alive. There's a bit more freedom in fanfiction to explore any idea.

Perhaps that's why an idea that seemed "fresh and new" to the folks at Pocket is really not to those who have been reading fanfiction for years. If a fanfiction writer kills off a character they can do all the exploration they want without having to worry about how they are going to bring the person back. I've read a number of these stories over the years and some of them are quite good. The idea isn't "fresh and new" at all but rather old hat.

Would be Interesting to see her die. The question would be, how would you kill her off? A fight to the death with the Borg Queen? Rough sex gone horribly wrong with a halogram? Someone poisons her 10th cup of coffee for the day? Tuvok hates she isn't logical and smashes her head in? Harry Kim gets his revenge for not being promoted beams her into the sun?
