*Most anticipated for men, 6th for women :)

According to female moviegoers, 2009's two most anticipated blockbusters are "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", and the "Twilight" sequel, "New Moon". For men, it's all about "Star Trek" and the "Transformers" sequel.

More than 2,000 fans responded to the survey, which was posted on Fandango.com in December. Since the Fandango Hot List is focused on next year's films, performers whose upcoming movies do not have a 2009 release date were not included.

They are shoving New Moon out next year? Well, I guess they gotta do it before the fad comes out.

Came out of "Doubt" last night and overheard the snickers from a gaggle of teenage girls as they passed the Star Trek display -- "Yeah, Ill go see Star Trek." was the sarcastic remark that generated laughter.

Yet Star Trek will smash through their pretty twattle Twilight's records in no time.

I'm sorry, but just because the nay sayers keep wishing and hoping the fail, doesn't mean it will. In fact, all indications show that it will be quite successful.

I'm pretty surprised that the Transformers sequel is the third most anticipated movie among women in that poll. :wtf:

I don't think Star Trek has ever really appealed to teenage girls, past or present...

Looking forward to wiping the smiles off naysayer faces in 5 months :)

I'm surprised Terminator is so low on the list.

Maybe that's because T3 was such a drop in quality from Cameron's T1 and T2, but I thought Bale's attachment to the project would be generating more excitement.

Flake's remark may not have been the best thing he could have chosen to say, but Matt, you have already received one advisory this morning in another thread to cool it. You aren't cooling it, and you're making it personal in a way that his comment was not. No more advisories -- you have a warning for trolling.

I'm surprised the Transformers flick is on anybody's "most anticipated" list.
Well, that too.

'Watchmen' is pretty low...

Probably because people think there's a chance that it won't come out.

I don't think most people know about the legal wrangling. Most people just have never heard of "Watchmen." Remember that most people don't keep up with comic books at all.

And it doesn't surprise me that teenage girls are indifferent to Star Trek. I wouldn't assume that Star Trek can beat the box-office clout of that Twilight vampire nonsense. Speaking as someone who never comprehended how Titanic could be so popular. But Star Trek isn't competing for the same audience really, so what does it matter?
