Fanboy's TREKKIES

I don't remember ever seeing a feature about a Star Wars fan building a star cruiser bridge in his basement.
I can confirm that they exist. One of my friends from work has been collecting Star Wars figurines and ships and has recreated entire scenes in his basement. His whole basement.

Well..until a STAR WARS fan shows up to court, to serve on a jury dressed like OBE WAN or Darth Vader, Trekfans still own the 'nerd' crown in opinion...and is okay..nothing bad with being the nerdy fanbase.

But hopefully with XI pulling new fans (and it is) maybe the average age a Trekfan has sex for the first time will finally go below 40 years of age...WINK WINK

Well, I don't know about him showing in court dressed up by one of the scenes is for his girlfriend to wear a gold bikini he got her and she his now pregnant with false twins that will be named Luke & Leia. I am not kidding.

It's simple: There are some very ugly and anti-social people in the Star Trek fanscene. Not a majority at all, though. However, those are the ones who everybody sees when there's a news item about a convention somewhere: ugly, anti-social people in not-fitting bright-colored pajamas arguing about what to regular people are the most unimportant things in the history of Mankind. And almost every woman that other women can be jealous of, paint themselves green of all things.

No wonder we've got a bit of a PR problem here. :D

Now if we'd simply introduce a rule: Only attractive people may go, and only in the barely-covered clothing of that 'peace' planet of TNG, showing off their bodies -- and we'd be set; buh-bye negative image. :D

But the lady going to Jury duty in her STAR TREK outfit was a national story...thats the difference here. MILLIONS of people saw it...and Shatner's skit on SNL also started opening the 'dorkdome' that Trek has, and IMO, was right on target. I have been to my fair share of conventions. And, as a group, TREK fans are a bit off the deepend. And IMO, again, more so than the Star Wars fans....but so what I guess. The Trek fans have been "Branded" as humans who are gooberish, mostly mail, asexual in some cases, who live at home until the age of 35 and who shower/bathe once a week. (as oppose to comic-book fans who shower twice a week). It may not be fair, and it doesn't include all of us, but thats the brand name for Trek fans. From SIMPSONS to CONAN OBRIEN, FANBOYS, and even Crosby's own Trekkies, its pretty much accepted that we are that way.

Which is why I hope they have a ton more Uhura underwear scenes, Uhura/Spock scenes, and more Captain Kirk gets in fights scenes. And, this will anger some of you but oh well..DO NOT make it TREK's new aspiration to have a major character who is.....roll the drums....get ready to through the tomatos....a GAY man. Yep, its not fair, its a double-standard, and how dare I even say it. Well...I said it. And this is all my opinion. And to go one further? Let's tone down the libral bias that TREK has had over the years and tell some kick ass stories (like this new STAR TREK movie).
