Its a stand alone. It's the winning script in our first contest for outside writers and we wanted to give them the freedom to tell a good story without worrying too much about continuity.

Ya....I thought the idea of having a contest for fans to write stories was a great idea. However, as I listened, some of what happened during the first two seasons seemed to have been ignored.....I LOVED that story.....but I am a continuity hawk....so had to ask.

Yeah, NOGOA is outside regular continuity. You could argue that Cortez briefly woke up on the way home from Valandria and no one ever mentioned it and NOGOA takes place between Seasons 1 and 2... but that's a stretch at best.

Because it wasn't in continuity, I argued to the writer that it should actually end with everyone dying. But he insisted that they should live, and it should be a dream. (Of course, if I'd told him that Cortez wasn't going to survive anyway, maybe he would have reconsidered.)

And I actually think he was right, in the end, because the last scene is my favorite in the episode. "That was exactly who I was." Nice work, Chris Chan Roberson.

I just registered on your message boards.

The flow of NOGOA was just fabulous and the ending was totally unexpected.
