I'd be surprised if this has never come up before, but seriously, how bad is Roxanne Dawsons' acting when she's playing the full-Klingon B'Elanna?

she's terrible!

I don't think it's bad, although maybe she went in a weird direction with it.

But she looks so cute without the prosthetics in human form, that I'm willing to take the good with the bad. :techman:

Well, think about it, she was playin' a Klingon who was drugged and restrained, and was really brand new to the world. Obviously the human form was the one that kept the body. The slow, haltin' search for words was that lifeforms first words!

I say it wasn't too bad for a sedated newborn...

I loved that episode. I did NOT like the human B'Elanna. I thought Roxann did a marvelous job as a Klingon.

I thought she did a great job as a Klingon. At first I couldn't tell it was the same actress--the prosthetics really made her sound different.

I thought Dawson's acting was fantastic in this episode and it made her one of my favorite characters on the show.

Same here. I thought that was one of her best episodes. She seemed like she was barely holding back the rage as a Klingon. And that facial transplant was so creepy and such an alien thing to do. "Hey baby, am I hot now that I'm wearing your dead friend's face?"

When Roxanne's Mom watched the ep, she complimented her daughter on her job, then asked "Who did they get to play the Klingon!" :klingon:

B'Elanna as a full Klingon... :bolian: :bolian: :bolian:

The first time I watched Faces I also didn't know that Roxann played the Klingon role. Her line "Some rodent I killed" is one of my favourite Trek lines, and this is one of my overall favourite Trek episodes.
