Face/Off--Hirogen vs Jem'Hadar

Ferengi Prime 5

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
A face off between the Hirogen and the Jem'Hadar and it most likely happen on the holodecks of the Hirogen starships. The holograms files given to the Hirogen could have had images of the Jem'Hadar.

There is a Jem'Hadar character among the holograms copied from Voyager's files. The Federation's first contact with the Jem'Hadar was in (1993) Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Jem'Hadar, just a few months before Voyager launched in (1994) Star Trek: Voyager: Caretaker. It is therefore not impossible that Voyager's files would have Jem'Hadar images.

I know this is not a new argument but now there a path of possible for it to have happened. Hirogen starship hunting for Jem'Hadar starship and the grand battle it would be, not counting the hand to hand combat on the holodecks...

The DS9 literature Jem'Hadar character Taran'atar faced off against a Hirogen hunter in the novel Demons of Air and Darkness.

I know the novels aren't canon but the writers are a talented bunch.

I think individually, the Hirogen would have the edge, but as a culture, I think the Jem'Hadar would take them. A cohesive, hive-like military culture vs a disjointed group of solo (sometimes duo) hunters will win every time.

What I'd like to see is the Yautja (Predators) vs the Hirogen - "So you like hunting, eh?"
But then I'd want to see the Xenomorphs (Alien) vs the Undine (Species 8472).
We already got the blatant rip-off of Alien vs Predator in Voyager.

The Jem'Hadar were a race specifically bred, and presumably genetically optimized for battle.

As such you would expect them to wipe any naturally evolved species' asses- Federation species, Klingons, Hirogens.

Except that they don't seem that formidable in actual battle, Our Heroes can defeat them. So I suspect the Hirogen could.

Perhaps the Founders didn't want them to be too good at their job, for internal security reasons (e.g. should they ever revolt)?

Remember that the Jem'Hadar are short-lived, and the bulk of their knowledge is genetically encoded. They were designed to be essentially disposable, overwhelming an enemy through sheer numbers. I think @MarkusTay has the right of it. In a one to one contest, the Hirogen would take the Jem'Hadar's feed tube as a trophy. But given the overall numbers of each available... the Jem'Hadar would absorb severe losses at the hands of the Hirogen's massive firepower and superior skill, but they would prevail, and replace their lost soldiers in a matter of months.
