Face Of The Enemy, Don Davis Music, Deanna's Great Acting!

I love Face Of The Enemy! What a rare and unusual episode!

There is music by Don Davis, the only one that I think was in Star Trek. The music is very suspenseful, which is unusual for post Ron Jones Star Trek, at least not until Paul Baillargeon began scoring episodes many years later.

And then you have Deanna (Marina Sirtis) whose acting is much different compared with other episodes. She is MUCH stronger than she was before in the episode "Disaster". The Face Of The Enemy episode does not completely stand out on its own however. It is a part of the Spock story arc, but it is probably the best one!

I'd still like to know how she was able to learn how to speak Romulan so quickly lol.

Great episode. Sirtis gives a strong account of herself.

But I did think watching it, it was implausible that she was suddenly capable of being that commanding and that composed whilst alone in what was an acutely dangerous situation.

As for the scoring, what mars Star Trek was the loss of Ron Jones and his wonder scores and his replacement with generally very pedestrian scoring.

This was indeed Sirtis's best episode. It's interesting how some characters best episodes in Trek are ones where they are out of character. You have Sirtis here, and Harry Kim in Timeless as examples.

By far the best Troi episode. Marina Sirtis is a good actress but she rarely got to show off her skills on the show.
