Ezri & Kira

Ezri II

Captain
Other then with TOS, there has been two female characters with each series. Therefore, with the last season of Deep Space 9 they added Ezri Dax. What I did find very interesting, there was almost zero contact with Ezri and Kira during the final season. In my judgment, Kira spent more time with the female shape shifter then with Ezri Dax.

Look, I do not mind and really I like to see dialog with men and women. What I do find some what odd, there is almost zero dialog with female only dialog with the only two primary characters of the show (Ezri and Kira).

Kira and Jadzia had a strong friendship for a while there. I think that by the time Ezri came on, there were so many other things going on that when it came to Ezri's particular character arc, they just tried to concentrate on a few relationships that were germane to her story, e.g., Bashir and Worf.

Still, did Jadzia and Kira really had a strong friendship. Other then walking with each other a few times and only a single time alone with each other outside of the station. True, it was talked that they had a strong friendship but it was not really done well on DS9.

Yes, Ezri spent time with Bashir and Worf but that was strange. It would be like dating your sisters ex boyfriends.

While Jadzia and Kira were never shown to be as close as say O'Brien/Bashir or Dax/Sisko I think there's more than a few episodes in which they are shown to have a strong friendship. It's just DS9 barely had the time to focus on the core friendships that they couldn't focus on all them.

Maybe the Intendant and Ezri had a more, well, developed relationship. I would have focused an entire episode on it...

Ro

That is so sad.

The Intendant and the mirror Ezri only had a single episode and that relationship is more developed then the Kira and Ezri relationship with the rest of the 27 episodes.

Yep..exactly my point...Sometimes I think they should have just stayed over there and developed the alliance/human struggle...

INTERESTING!!!

Sometimes I think the alliance/human stuggle was more interesting then DS9 with our universe.

I wouldn' go quite that far...but yes, at times I can see your point. At the end of DS9 they should have moved over there for another season or two. And you didn't need sisko, since he was already dead over there. But I could a DS9/Mirror show that followed the exploits of some of the 'coutner parts'

And hey, the Ezri/Leeta relationship would have been fun to 'watch' too

We need to find some babes to play the parts...and we just sit back and read see what happens!!!

Rob

Well I would play EZRI but there is someone out there that would play the mirror Ezri. But, that is not the main point.

What I am thinking about with this tread is the relationship of Ezri and Kira in the last season. I like to get back to that topic. As it will give me great feedback if and only if I want to role play that too.

I think, as it was said earlier, they just didn't have the time to go into much detail with Ezri. The fact she even got her own episode at all (the one with her family) was a miracle. Her character was a victim of not enough time..

having said that? I liked Ezri. She was flawed, she wasn't perfect. And on STAR TREK shows, that is a breath of fresh air...

With 6 seasons of DS9 Jadzia never went home to visit her parents and sisters. Jadzia talked about her sister and I think there was more then a single sister. She did not have any brothers as I understand.

Wished Ezri had a sister.

She had a brother as I recall. I guess they could have made that character a sister, but not sure why that would have been important.

If you mean because the primary female characters on DS9 in season 7, Ezri and Kira, had little time together, then yeah..I see your point.

Rob

They would seem to be very unlikely friends, other than the Dax connection. Kira and Jadzia were strong, kick-ass friends, joking about men etc.. Ezri was, IMHO, way too girly to really be friends with Kira.

They were at war, Kira was very busy, the friendship would not have have been an instant one.. so I don't think either would have pursued it at that point. Now in a different, more peaceful time perhaps a friendship would have developed.
