Ezri and Kes...

Is is just me, or do you see similar traits between Ezri on DS-9 and Kes, in the first two seasons of Voyager, that kind of looked the same, and were both lacking confidence in what they were assigned to do. They both matured and became very competent in their duties, however the first few times I saw them, they reminded me of each other...

Kes never shot anyone with a badass rifle :( Missed opportunity?

Apart from that, I don't really see many similarities. Ezri had her world turned upside down by the Dax symbiont and had to find her place in life again, whereas Kes knew she wanted to explore and learn more about the universe and herself.

After they both find their feet, they diverge further. Ezri becomes a confident and vital member of the crew, sticking to Starfleet duties. Kes becomes more independent and eventually turns into a wibbly wobbly demi-God and deprives Chakotay of the opportunity to lose another shuttle.

Yeah, so like the post above, outside of the few physical similarities, they're quite different people.

:guffaw:Perfect blurb for the episode!

Not to mention she steals a scene from Babylon 5 almost exactly. :)

^ WHich scene?

The end is a direct steal from the end of "Mind War."

Telekenesis, shuttle, I leave you a gift, boom. Deja vu all over again. It's the one scene in all Trek that I don't think anyone can deny was cribbed from B5.
