Was there a need to capitalize your thread title? I'm not sure what you're referring to about the Wookies. They were an independent species until the Empire enslaved them and forced them to work a slave laborers. Besides which I don't think the economics of the SW galaxy has been clearly defined as it seems to be in say the Star Trek universe.
