They released extended complete scores for TOS Battlestar Galactica (with the exception of the famous opening montage title/credits scene for some bizarre reason) and Dark Crystal during the various time-frames of their respective anniversaries, and for fairly reasonable prices. It stands to reason that the Trek movies may get a similar treatment. Here's hoping.
Oh the Galactica set was a joy to purchase. I had heard it was some sort of promotional effort by Stu Phillips, but I can't recall precisely. After hearing so much of that music on the video tapes for years I was ecstatic to have it on CD. Especially my favorite stuff from the Lightship. It was a tad disappointing about the missing title/credits music, but I think that was sort of a montage cut-together piece anyhow, since some of it (the climax end portion) was on the original movie soundtrack. It's at the end of The Gathering Of The Fleet. I do know that it was never the same on any one episode. They had to shorten it, or extend it depending on how many guest stars were in the episode. I loved those episodes that had so many people it just dragged on for the longest stretch.
