My friend's brother's wife called me today and she filled me in on what has been happening. The brother went to check on him and my friend called the cops on his brother to have them evict the brother. It seems as if my friend might be suffering from Alzheimer's and one of the symptoms is rage. So we don't know if he lost his temper and hurt his wife, (also my friend) sending her to the hospital or what. Suddenly 2 of my best friends of over 20 yrs are basically gone.

I'm so sorry - Alzheimer's can be, just as you said, devastating. Hoping for the best, and will look for any updates from you with fingers crossed optimistically.
