my washing machine broke. Murphy's law: Mechanics don't work on Saturdays and Sundays. Tuesday is a public holiday and most small companies don't work on the bridge-day (Monday) so that I shan't get a technician before Wednesday evening the earliest. Fortunately it's only a small repair: the inlet valve that makes the water start and stop appears to be crammed. However, the machine is approximately 30 years old and I'm not sure a modern spare part will fit. Fortunately, my mechanic specializes in such oldtimers and is certain to know a solution.
