express yourself/your life in one word for today, v 2.0

ouch! That sucks! Is it just temporary or do you have to take them forever?
Temporarily. I hope. It’s a low dose to be taken as required, but not to stop taking without advice.

My heart rate at rest today was up to 137, after reading a sedate account of rail travel in the 1970s. Sort explains why I felt my chest would explode every time I had to address a lecture theatre or conference room full of difficult questions.

Thanks. I’m on leave from work while I get myself together.

My strategy used to be to beat myself up and get stuck in to something distracting until it was time to drown it out with wine. That only worked for so long, fifteen years or so. I used to find that if I stopped being busy for any amount of time, I’d have a panic attack.

Now I have some medications and I’ve allowed myself the time to relax, and step back a bit from what I can’t control. I’ve read books this month that I’ve wanted to read, written some cathartic whimsy, taken a short break in a rainy windswept town, built a lot of Lego sets with the kids. I still have panic attacks though, but not so often.
I used to get panic attacks too and it's extremely unpleasant. It's good to hear that you don't get them very often nowadays. Have you had any coaching on breathing and such while having a panic attack to make it go away faster?

Thanks.

I had a fair bit of coaching on breathing technique and relaxation over the years, but it seems to have lost its effectiveness as time went on. I have some counselling scheduled that I hope will refresh my abilities.

AncestryDNA

I'm getting more and more frustrated with them. I'm just trying to find my actual DNA results, not my family tree, and they keep putting up roadblocks and popups trying to upsell me at every step. Now I've told them to send my raw data, they had me verify my password and said I needed to wait until I get an email from them. So far, nothing.

I didn't even want to do this friggin' thing. My mom wanted me to do it so she could research my dad's side.

Interesting that I had no idea I had Baltic, Russian, and European Jewish in my history.

Norway (26%--Nelson), Germanic Europe (24%--Haider), England (18%--Bayliss), and Sweden (13%--?) were of no surprise.

[edit]Apparently their site does not tell me what I want to know...chromosome and gene traits. Ineed to pay for another service for those.
