Explain your Av!

Damar with a Manly Purple Hat (its about a nine on the Robu meter of manliness).

I always have a Damar av unless its Halloween or I want to pay tribute to one of the forgotten Cardassians. (for example, Macet)

The person in my avatar is Scott Weiland, vocalist of my favourite band Stone Temple Pilots (also former vocalist of Velvet Revolver).

Last summer while driving through Iowa, we passed by a little town which will be the future birthplace of one James Tiberius Kirk.
I had to show it off!

that is cool! and two birds one stone to boot - cool av and pix of self!

I guess it's pretty straight foward but, for those who don't know, it's Jessica Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit and I used to model myself after her (I wasn't an actual model, I just dyed my hair red and wore purple eyeshadow/red lipstick because I was a loser teen with no creativity so I stole her look).

^
Jessica Rabbit was modeled after Rita Hayworth & Veronica Lake...I remember reading some where.

it's a great look to steal. if you're going to steal, steal from the best.

Mine reminds me of my Father.
... And I really loved Up, which also reminded me of my Father (who I miss very much). :(

^I LOVE that av., by the way.

Me too, and I think it fits Shaw perfectly in so many ways. :D Also, I finally got to see UP a few weeks ago. I didn't cry. I know you didn't ask, but I'm just sayin' it. :shifty:

Nada al Farouk, a character from the middling Australian comedy "The Librarians" and the only reason I watch the show.

Of course you didn't. I know that I certainly didn't have a manly tear in the corner of my manly eye during the incredibly well thought out and bittersweet sequence showing Carl and Ellies' life together set to music, since you didn't ask.

I'm far too manly for such things, you see.

:D

I've changed my avatar.

Its a promo photo of Rene Auberjonois as Paul Lewiston from ABC's BOSTON LEGAL with "BAD WOLF" spray painted, makin' Rene Auberjonois the Doctor from BBC's DOCTOR WHO.

I made it for a sub-forum avatar contest a couple of months ago...

has Rene been in every Trek franchise since TNG? I know he was in at least one TOS movie.
and ENT and I even think a Voy episode - a very talented versital(sorry abt spelling) actor!

versatile?

I just love Cavandoli's La Linea

So when I got tired of changing my av for every little fad that came along (I still play though!) on the T-BBS I found La Linea to be an almost infinite resource for av-making.

I also like the fact that they easily can be made less 'clean'; a bit 'fuzzy' around the edges... a sort of 'homemade' look -if that makes any sense.

I've had a few of them:

^Indeed I do: this place is overflowing with great (not just 'good'!) avatars -and the most amazing thing is that most users make their own (or has someone else from the board do it for them) -just one more reason to love the T-BBS :bolian:
