Expanding Earth Theory

Miss Chicken

Little three legged cat with attitude
Admiral
I have never heard of this theory before and I am wondering how much 'attention' it is given in the USA? Are there people who actually believe this guy? He has a lot of videos on You Tube. Here is one

[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfgkm0eBGsc&feature=related[/yt]

I've heard of it before, and I think it's pretty silly, honestly. I mean, I'll grant that he's come up with some pretty creative "logic," but the idea of Earth expanding somehow over time just makes no sense. So far as I'm aware, the ideas don't have any real traction, at all—even in comparison to people like flat Earthers.

I like how he appeals to nothing but "common sense" to dispute the consensus on India (knowing, I guess, that he won't be getting any fans in the scientific community), and then pulls out this insane notion of a growing earth.

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

While watching that video I was wondering when he'd start explaining some of his theory with dinosaurs jumping up and down, making lower India flat.

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

My own Expanding Ass Theory is more scientifically sound. The more I eat and the less I exercise, the larger my ass. I have yet to be proven wrong.

I really wish I could be proven wrong! ;)

Neal Adams has been promoting this theory for years (although I guess he overheard it in a bar or something). It's sad to see him make a fool of himself like this; he's a brilliant and influential artist.

The theory itself makes no sense. You would to rewrite a great deal of our understanding in regard to geology and physics in general, and in the case of Mr. Adams, you would have to do so because it would be "common sense" instead of statistically supported data.

Ever hear of Gene Ray?

He's just another crackpot -but at least with him it's obvious:

Dumb ass educators fear

me and hide from debate.

They are paid to teach a propaganda book - not

Cube Truth - for which

they would be fired. Evil

teachers betray students,

as ONE is a Death Value.

Cube 4x4 voids 1 & God.

:wtf: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :wtf:

 There are some great creative ideas there, I concede that.

Forgetting for a moment the silliness of his theory (please, by all mean, explain how the Earth grow in size...), what bugs me is the complete misinterpretation of the plaque tectonics ("an island uprooting from the sea floor" and such other nonsense). Science is enough difficult to explain without these people twisting and confusing it. The bad thing about these "unorthodox" theories (especially if the proposers are canny in marketing and presentation, appealing to "common sense" etc.) is not their threat to the scientific community, but the confusion they create in science popularization.

He must of been stoned out of his mind when he came up with this idea.

"Dude, how did you come up with this?"

*cut scene to him sitting on the couch in the middle of the night, stoned with a beer in his hand watching tv*

I just looked at his website. I think it must be about the nuttiest site I have ever visited on the internet.

I did however find this website that help me understand Gene Ray's actual theory a little better - at least I think it might have.

It certainly is saying something as I have visited the Moon Hoax site, Answers in Genesis and Fred Phelp's God Hates Fags among others.

Gene Ray is awesome and brilliant. Do you doubt the validity of nature's harmonious four-day timecube? You are educated evil! :p

Also, Neal Adams needs to take a high school Earth Science course.

Neal Adams is a giant among comicbook artists, one of the best the medium has ever produced. His influence is second only to Jack Kirby.

That being said, he's an idiot.
